Yep, good call Derek. The only thing a cap in that position can do is decrease output power. I suspect it was primarily for frequency seperation. My cars will work with other frequency remotes if the remote wire is right up next to the car. And when racing, the cars tend to studder when they get close to the other person. Instead of making high quality transmitters and receivers with accurate frequencies they just lowered the output wattage with the cap. That’s my theory.
