      Hi all,

I m trying to sort out my handling issues with my Z which are left turns causing the car to spin out 180 degree turns and sometimes doughnuts. So something isn t quite right as yet.

I ve been searching the web on this too, and have read in one article that by lifting the vehicle off the table top and ensuring that both wheels leave the surface at the same time. When I push one of the rear wheels up into the wheel arch and let go, the wheel only drops down slightly.

It s as if the cf h-plate doesn t do it s job to re-level both wheels so that they are parallel to the table top. I ve disconnected all roll shocks, rear dampers so that nothing interferes with it.

I ve tried the same on the soft, medium and hard cf h-plate and get the same results. However the original plastic h-plate does the job nicely.

My question is – is this normal for a cf h-plate to do this or do all of your h-plates spring back flat ? I m using the rcrm brand of h-plate at the moment.

      Thanks,
      Kevsta.

Check the wire for the motor, it might be tweaking it. Its got quite a bit of leverage
and the wire isn’t all that flexy.

…it sounds MORE like a difference in the tightness of your hubs or perhaps an issue with something tightening / loosening around the back feet…

panda depends on what wire the wire that on the xspeed motor i got is like a rubber band it wouldnt have any influence on it even with a thin h plate

      oh ok.

The stock motor wire is stiffer?
Bend it too much too often & it breaks… 🙁

The X speed has silicon insulated wire, and its thin stuff….very flexy.

Definitely not the shell or motor wires. I can see that the h-plate ain’t flexing back to its original shape.

I’ve taken the h-plate off the car, flex it a bit and lay it on a flat surface and press each end of the h-plate and can see the other side lift a little.

I think it’s time to buy some better brand ones.

      Thanks for you replies.

Been doing a little surfing and found the following review of topcad h-plates :

Looks like a few aftermarket brands of h-plates have this problem as well.
