St. Louis-based Hardee?s Food Systems Inc. Monday rolled out its Monster Thickburger ? two one-third-pound slabs of Angus beef, four strips of bacon, three slices of cheese and mayonnaise on a buttered sesame seed bun. The sandwich alone sells for $5.49 or $7.09 with a medium fries (520 calories) and soda (about 400 calories).
107g of fat! one Monster Thickburger contains twice the recommended daily allowance of saturated fat, and nearly a full day’s worth of sodium.

The yanks use mayo as a dipping sauce for their french fries… ok I guess.
But I still prefer dipping FFs into McD’s softserve.

Fries + Softserve? Eh you kidding right?
A while back ( I work at maccas) a mate (who also works at maccas) came in and asked for a quaterpounder….with 8 meat patties and 10 slices of cheese , or…a doublepounder.
The fat that was dribbling out of it had to be seen to be believed…

How much extra does one need to pay for those custom Maccca burgers ?
My favourite is the hungry jacks whopper with cheese. Had one the other day, and it tasted good.

That 2 lb burger ended up costing him somewhere in the region of $16…

Oh and if you get custom burgers, you’ll 99% of the friendly smiling staff actually want to kill you…custom grill orders are a real hassle…

I heard that disgruntled staff spit in the burgers, pelt each other with frozen buns in the cool room and blow in the softserve or are they macca myths ?
-
November 25, 2004 at 4:10 am #24561

Where i work its a tad stricter than that….but throwing stuff at each other is still common when the manager is elsewhere. Ive never spat, and never seen anyone spit in a burger, its just too risky.
Last week i put a dirty big moth in the softserve machine, imagine sucking that up a straw :p

I had sweet & sour pork with fried rice for lunch today and it’s not settling down too well – hate burping up that awful taste…:dead:
Jamie,
I’m staying away from those thick shakes, in fact I can’t remember when I last had one of those.
What’s the deal with getting the pickles from the cheese burger and throwing them up on to the ceiling ?
dgs, chicken juices and chicken skin used to make the kfc gravy right ?
-
November 25, 2004 at 10:53 pm #24530
A mate who works at KFC said something about the gravy being made from all the crap that comes from the deep fryers when they are cleaned….
Dude the pickle thing is so old, being a silly dickhead doesnt get you anywhere…i’ve learnt that the hard way.

yeah.. you think when ur working u can piss around and do nothing.. but really you cant.. i get to play with hyrolic pallet jacks.. ridding them is fun.. but you cant really afford to mucka round places now have to knock back more than 50% of there applications so if ur not working they cna afford to just fire you.
-
November 26, 2004 at 5:32 pm #24508
Thats true merc they can afford to fire you….I remeber when i was doing nite at the super market the pallet jack was my favourite form of transport around the store…..we used to have races around the store on them only when we were working really late though and my nitefill manager used to join in all the time……it was fun dangerous but fun…!!!:D:D:D

my brother in law is a manager in newcastle, and his family own and run the maccas in kemsey. every member of that family would have eaten their fair share of “free” food over the years and it damn well shows… my sis has got the husband going for jogs at 5:30 every morning:).
i played chase the rat at the maccas at port maquarie with most of the staff last time i past through (we were desparate for dinner:dead:. that was a laugh.
after watchin that supersize me docco im a bit wary of plastic food. watch it i dare ya! the nugget story is the best bit…
and as for chinese food thats as plastic as it gets! xcept yum-cha because that is fresh, tasty and an awesome xperience…

KFC gravy is indeed made from the same lard-bricks they use in processing the chicken. I remember a couple on the news who once killed their own baby bcuz they fed him kfc potato and gravy for weeks! the poor kid ended up being poisoned with every undesirable preservative in the book, along with a seriously screwed up kidney upon post mortem.
As for maccas, i prefer bk or oportos. The fries aren’t bad tho. Watchout for toilets filled with ice. they use it for…..hmm…….
It’s a pity we don’t have Jack in the Box. That golf-headed mascot is the funniest thing.

One of my mates spent 3 years at a macca’s. He used to always tell us about crazy recipes they would make up. 2lb burgers, donuts (2 buns, a couple of those jam thingys for the pancakes, deepfried for a couple of seconds). creamy soda made out of soda water and soft serve mix.
Worst fast food story…? I worked at a Pizza restaurant, where a baby was concieved on the “make bench”.
