      Hi,

I just installed the RCRM Ball Diff on my mini-z racer and noticed that the little screw thingy that fastens the wheel hub to the axle can easily un screw itself when the car is driven.

What tool does everyone use to tighten this screw thingy . The screw doesn t have a top, so you can t simply insert a phillips head screw driver into it.

BTW. Hobbyco sell this item for $60 😯

      Thanks in advance,

      Kevsta.

It’s called a set screw, use an allen key.

Threadlock will stop it coming loose (use only Tamiya threadlock). But my Kyosho diffs have stayed put fine without.

      Thanks for the info.

I didn’t notice that the inside of the ‘set screw’ had the shape for an allen key – I’ve been inserting in some pointy tipped tweezers and turning clockwise. Must check again.

      Cheers,
      Kevsta.

It’s the same size set screw as those used on 1/10th RC car pinions so you can get spares 😉

I just crank the bugger up nice and tight….

dod its a grub screw, or set screw as OTP says. I can send you one with the stickers if you want, i’ve got three of em. Most ball diffs come with them.

Yeah, I think it is traction problems on a tiled floor. I noticed that if the floor is cleaned, or running on floor boards – its okay.

BTW. Are the meadowbank netball courts smooth painted surface ?

      Thanks.
