Well, i’ve taken the plunge and ordered a Bit from a seller on eBay.co.uk. Brand new Mitsi Evo (red, 35mhz) for ?29.99. The same kit is up for ?49.99 at bitcharg.co.uk, so it looks like i got a good deal. My mate also got one from the same guy, a Scooby Impreza (white, 57mhz) for about the same money (?59.99 at bitcharg.co.uk!). Both were posted out on Saturday, so they should be here on Tuesday, i can’t wait!

Oh, as soon as i get it, i’ll check the controller for a crippling cap and post in the database thread.

Hi Chewy (say, you wouldn’t be the Chewy from the Nokia newsgroups would you?).

Anyway, you should have checked http://www.toyeast.com before buying – their prices are extremely good and they arrive much quicker then you’d expect. I’ve ordered at least five times from them, at least, and all my goods have arrived within 5 days! Sign up for ‘Dealer’ membership and you can save on them – no minimum purchase neccessary. Steer well away from http://www.bitcharg.co.uk as they are a complete rip-off – IMO. Considering you can now buy Official Tomy Bit Char-G in the UK under the name ‘Compact Char-G’ for ?25 – them charging ?50 is a little steep! Yeah you can now get ‘Compact Char-G’ (Official Tomy UK version of the Bit Char-G) in Gadget Shop (stores and online at http://www.gadgetshop.co.uk), Toys R Us and http://www.firebox.co.uk (might be .com). Only two cars available at present and only in two frequencies.

I’ve not got a Mits Evo in my collection (I currently own 7 Official Tomy Bit Char-G and 6 OEM – unofficial ones) so I can’t comment on it – but it looks sweet!

      Good luck man :smiley2:

Well, both mine and my mate’s char-g’s turned up this morning (monday), a day earlier than expected! Before i ordered from the guy on eBay, i checked Firebox and The Gadget Shop, and both only had Bit Char-G copies (is that what you guys are calling OEM’s?). The Gadget Shop also had Nikko I-Racers (Digi-Q’s?). Anyway, i wanted to race my mate, and as i understand it there’s only one frequency available officially in the UK so far.

We were both impressed with the Bits, although the 1.0 motors are a bit slow. The range was VERY short on my red Evo at first, but i found a cripple capacitor on the solder mask (green) side of the circuit board. Range is better now, but still not quite as good as my mate’s Scooby (which had no cripple cap).
