I’ve been getting into my IW’s alot more lately and I’m looking to do some upgrading. A little at a time.
I’m in the market for a good ball diff for an IW02.
What brand would you recommend? I don’t really care too much about the price, just that its reasonable and not $100 or something absurd.
Iwaver
Kyosho
______?
______?
______?Best, and easiest to adjust? Are there Ceramic ball diffs? How often would it need to be rebuilt or broke down. (other than general cleaning)
I looked around and didn’t see and threads devoted to Diffs and their comparisons. So feel free to post any info about and Mini-z or Iwaver diffs.

kyosho diffs are the best but awful expensive. ceramic balls are lighter and more durable than the metal type.
i break my diff down after around 15 – 20 packs.i got a 3racing diff, it was a bit sticky and scratchy. so i replaced the balls and plates with parts from an old mr01 diff (well broken in), she’s smooth as silk now:8ball:

The best ball diff for racer
Kyosho Ball Diff (MZW206) 3360yen
Kyosho Ceramic ball (WBD10) 3150yen
Kyosho Titanium Shaft (MZW209) 2100yen
Total 8610yen ~ AUD$99.0115
http://www.kyosho.co.jp/web/race/miniz_cup/option/index-j.htmlOr Atomic (2nd best) for player
http://www.rcatomic.com/main/modules/news/article.php?storyid=88
but you need the Kyosho Ceramic ball (WBD10) as optionAnd iWaver ball diff (Xth best)
BUT, not GPM, 3Racing or Topcad MR-02 ball diff and ball diff parts, because they are not the copy from Kyosho ball diff, may not fit to your motor mount.
I rebuild my ball diff every 20 to 25 packs (15mins/pack) of batteries

good choice but, dayum!! $28usd?? i’m sure they’re half that price on rcmart.
ph2t has one and it works well for him. just be sure to buy atomic brand spur gears when it comes time to replace them, other brands won’t fit.:8ball: -

Also you can fit the Kyosho spur gear to Atomic ball diff too. -

It was $31.60 USD shipped, on Ebay.
RCMart would be $28.55 plus a headache of having to verify my address via fax, mail, first borns blood sample, and whatever else those idiots want.
I also picked up some stuff from Aaron here at the shop!!
Can’t wait!!:)
