G’day, does anyone know of a good way to get a decent drift going with a Bit Char G?

I apologize if this has been brought up before, I checked but the search wasn’t working.

Drifting Bit Char-G’s is very difficult, they seem to either spin out or stick to their path, you can do it, but not very effectively.

I have had great results with a ZZ SE, as it has propo steering and throttle.

I made a desktop drift track and sprayed it with window cleaner, installed a 2.2 in the ZZ SE and put the “knobby” tyres on and it was hanging out very well. It still took me a good while to learn how to control the drift.

If you want a really good drifter, go for a radio shack XMODS car (1/28 scale, has 4wd upgrade). These cost 50 US.

Or go for one of the Yokomo drift cars, but they are pricey, If you have a 4WD 1/10 Touring Car, you can put drift tyres on, or put poly pipe or “poo pipe” rings on the tyres.

I drove PandaBears TB02 Touring car with poo pipe rings around templestowe racetrack and i have not experienced fun like this at all!!

I’d drifted A Bit Char-g clone before, I added a dual cell, and all I had to do was turn to slip the rear out a little, then let off the throttle….worked nicely.

first thing for drifting is a nice track…

and then some synthetic oil strategicly spread on the outer side of the corners.

the barriers on the track are good to practice with because you can measure how succesful your drift skills are by attemting to not totally loose control and not slide into the walls.

the trick is aiming to get the front wheels clear of the oil but let the rears get into it.

to much oil tho and you’ll have nothing but slip and slide, so less is more fun.

BUILD A TRACK! bcgs arnt half as fun without one.

the only way i was able to semi drift my bits when the track is dusty and thats a fine line between spinout/drifting…..

my SE zip Zap use to fling the rear end real well.

and yes bit’s are even more fun on a track! i put ripple stripe barriers on the apex of corners and its fun seeing a bit go around a corner on two wheels when u hit the ripple strip just right :smiley16:

nothing beats competitive racing, whos got the supra? they are the best for track work because the squareness of skylines tend to be a disadvantage.
