hi all I have a firelap 02 fully hopped ie

      sipder turbo
      x-speed pro
      iwaver alloy everything

now the proublem is now with all the alloys installed , as soon as i pull the trigger the car turns left, Think it’s the ball diff, iv’e adjusted it every way i can, packed it with grease, ran it dry etc. I either have it kicking to the left or just spinning the cog while the car just sits there.

any ideas on this one??? is all the alloy tomuch weight? should i go to the old diff?

where the big proublem is, when i start the car moving i have to keep the wheels turned right, just enough to deal with it’s lust with left (tougue steer i guess), once at 1/2 and 3/4 speed she is fine, but when at full speed she will kick to the left again and do a little spin! the car just loves the left.

ps. it not the trim due to the fact when rolling or with out acceleration it goe stright!

pss. i have the same result using a super x-speed.

have you tried adjusting the POTS dial on the pcb….it alters the steering signals…maybe it might help. learn more before you mess with it. check on this link: http://www.mini-z.be/pcb.htm

Swap out the diff. It takes like two seconds. If it’s not that, then check your spider connections. You may have shorted something out.

On that diff that you had, who made it? I was thinking about the little screw thing (can’t think of the name right now). If that comes loose or falls out you can get symptoms like this. It will pull to the left because the left tire is getting no power and the right tire is getting power, so it turns like it has tank steering. It will sometimes go straight, but will never stay straight for long.

I added some screw tightener/gap filler to help keep it in place. I even took it a step further and put a small dab of super glue on it. I noticed all my ball diffs having the same problem. Check that little tiny half screw.

It’s worth the effort. A ball diff is much better than a gear diff.

iwaver made this one, I got one ot the 10 in one alloy kits from toyeast.
all works pretty good but adds a lot of weight. Plus the diff is a bit of a no go.

I also had to re-drill the alloy front Steering Knuckles so the king pin would slide, in fact all the steering parts required a little adjustment ie filing drilling etc. to work correctly.

anyway back to what you were saying

“I added some screw tightener/gap filler to help keep it in place. I even took it a step further and put a small dab of super glue on it. I noticed all my ball diffs having the same problem. Check that little tiny half screw.”

I don’t know what half screw you are talking about, and where did you put the super glue?

It’s a small black screw that should have come with your ball diff set. You need a really small allen wrench to screw it in. It would go on the side without the gear on it. I’ll try to get some pictures of what I’m talking about because I can’t really think of the names of everything or describe it very well. It sounds like that is exactly what your problem is.

This was over a month ago now, but I figure you still might need it or it’s good info for other people. Here’s a few pictures of a ball diff. On the end opposing the gear you have a cylinder piece with a hole in it. There is a small grub screw that goes in that hole. You slip the cylinder piece on the axle and lock it in place with the grub screw.
