ok fellas its “gung hei fat choi” with the ‘gung’ pronounced as goong. thats in cantonese. and its “gung xi fat chai” in mandarin, dosent matter which one you say, it all meens the same.
well only two days left, meaning only two more all day performances for me, YES! nearly over. any way if y’all dont noe what im talking about, i do those lion dancing shows you see on the streets of china town, what betty was talking bout with the drums and fire crackers. its good fun but blood exhausting, woke up at 10am got home bout 12ish in the mornning.:dead:

happy year of the monkey.
you dont perform in sydney do ya?
about five years ago i was in chinatown (sydney) on the day and it was damn loud, id describe it more like a couple of tinny machine guns rather than a plane crash… anyway the dancers must have dropped a packet outside a jewelry store so i scored a $150 little red envelope. it was good luck allround.

LOL@ z-beam
yeah, i usually perform around the southwestern sydney area(cabramatta) and if we get a chance we get to do it in chinatown (sydney).

im in perth dizzy, usually in north bridge, a few temples and sometimes in night clubs. and betty youre right the lion heads do get pretty heavy and pretty hot inside too, after a performances i find my self showered in sweat.
any way my 18th birthday was on the second last day of chinese new year, the boys took me out for my first drink and after a few beers, some shots of who noes what and a couple of flamers i was gone. ended up spewing all over the bar, felt pretty bad for the waitress. after that experience im never drinking again, learnt my lesson! alcohol not good!:dead:

ah alcohol, the only thing that lets you celebrate glorious occasions by forgetting them!
if you cant remember what happened, you can only assume it was a good night 😉
speaking of drinking, ive said id nver drink again, that was BEFORE i turned 18.
try drinking half a bottle of malibu and saying ‘why arent i drunk yet?’ then falling over and not waking up for 17hrs…
ive never had a hangover, ever. i promise!

some guys in my area stole his mothers car, got high, got drunk, went 200ks over a roundabout, got airborne and hit a telegrapgh pole side on.
needless to say, that was the end of that story.
the car was ripped in half, each half 100m away from the pole.
it was a ford though.:p
