Im back! some of you might remember me but if not I was here about a year ago and then decided to put down my controller. Well shear boredom drove me back and here i am! Been playing with my rides this week and have a cuple of tips for making that shell alot lighter. All the little things add up!

just today i got 2 rectangle leds (red) and attatched em to a battery and stuck em on my skyline…now it has wicked undercar neon!

this is heavy and made me realise more need for lightening your shells

      – removing spoiler helps ALOT
      – using a metal file (even a small nail file) to shave back the rear window where the antena comes out. Arguably this also helps for cooling
      – SHaving back the wheel arches a bit

well, i dunno if anyone’s mentioned that recently but there you have it

I hope to be around for a while so c ya around!

makes good sense to me, the shell makes up nearly 1/4 of the weight in a bit. and a lighter top bit means less rolling over. i’ve been meaning to make a rollcage type body for one, maybe outta plastic rods or paperclips. and i think ventilation is important even at this scale, especially once you dual cell it.:8ball:

a nice scalpel realy helps when shaving away the inside of a shell, i took a gram of excess out of a supra once.

under the bonnet and the inside of the rear end (avoid the tabs tho) have a lot of extra plastic that isn’t really needed for this scale.
