Got one of these iWaver 01 (Mini Z clones) brand new from ToyEast and the steering randomly twitches left/right which makes me lose control. I ve contacted ToyEast for a controller replacement (think it might take yonks with their response time) but not sure if this will help. Switched off all my wireless junk at home and tried different locations to eliminate chances of radio interference. Too much body damage not from my driving skills! I ve read somewhere it might be the steering pot is buggered but it s random. Is iWaver you get what you paid for?

yes, you get what you pay for.

Thanks betty.k for the quick reply. Yeah a bummer when you pay USD $39 plus another US $20 for postage, may as well go for the real deal and get me a Kyosho Mini Z. I’ll pull apart the steering section and take a look. Can you get the pots from places Dicksmith or Jaycar or need to get them from Hobby Suppliers as a bit put off by shipping costs from overseas?

you’ll have to get these through a hobby supplier, electronic shops don’t seem to carry them.
you’re in for an expensive ride!:8ball:

I’ve had a few faulty/missing items from Toy East, and they’ve always sent me a replacement – but they do take a while. Like weeks to months.

Might be worth emailing a few different people at ToyEast.

snailpace how bad is the twitching? i had a problem like that with my iwaver, wen i apply full throttle it twitches and wen i race it on the ground it ran a relatively stright line but it looked like it was swerving pedestrians. i got a post-it cut a lil piece shoved it behind the piece of plastic behind the pot. then i replaced the motor caps with 103 monolythics and now i have NO twitching.
if u can come to meadowbank i think every1 could give u hand getting it fixed.

Hi Mocky, the twitching is bad enough to do panel damage on the body with all the swerving. I took the TX crystal and put it in my new iWaver 01 controller (black) and the only difference is at very slow throttle it won’t slam in reverse like with the clear controller but WILL continue to twitch randomly. I got onto Steve @ ToyEast, he said will send out a new replacement controller, don’t that’s happening soon. Not sure what you mean about “motor caps with 103 momolythics” as i’m just a rookie newbie! Meadowbank, isn’t that in SYD? I’m in MEL. Will try replacing the new pot that i will get off Aaron and see how it goes. My new iWaver (black controller) 01 runs sweet.

i’ve always had excellent customer service from toyeast. and steve is a reliable guy, if he says there’s a controller coming then watch your letterbox! just bear in mind that they are an international company, but it’s helpful to write in nice clear english.:8ball:

Yeah i guess those dudes at ToyEast are a busy bunch. Wonder if we can snatch the new iWaver 02 and their versions of the Mini Z monster in time for xmas?
