JNH are the local importers for the Compact-CharG range…
      or at least “were”. :p

They seem to have discontinued all previous CCGs, both
      series 1 (the 2 GTRs & 2 S2000s) and the series 2.

      For 2004… they’re only doing Italians! 😯

They allowed me to take a picture, so here’s the 2004 lineup:

I think this time round they haven’t bothered changing anything.
They’ll be called “Super Bit Char Gs” and come with 1.6 motors.

Expect them to appear at the usual Oz haunts after July.

I borrowed a pass and had a look around today.

Was the JNH stand ‘protected’ by some nerd behind a counter? Some guy stopped me from going in there.

yea, some new rule they had… previous years they didn’t bother.
This year they asked if I held a trade a/c with them, when I said
I didn’t Mr Counter Guy went off and found us an escort to take
us around. No harm… at least I had his attention the whole time
(which is better than at a lot of the other stands..!).

Revised rule this year too: “no photos without stand owners’ permission”,
which is better than previous silly “absolutely no cameras”.
Saw that sign on Friday, -hey- remembered the camera today.

Naturally the *only* stand that said no to photos was silly Tamiya.
Not that they had anything even remotely NEW on the stand, all they
had were the stuff released earlier at Nuremburg & the ‘Net is
already full of those cars’ photos. :clown:

Everyone else, any publicity is good publicity. 🙂

Honestly, we should not speak ill of Mr Counter Guy.
      Let’s call him “Chris”. 🙂

After we finished with the SBCG and were trying to
get out, Chris was back at his post. He grabs us
and drags us back in, now to the other end of
their large stand… and points out:

      logo_landsea.gif
      landsea_photo.gif

This thing can run on land with 4 little 2″ wheels.
      Its about 12″ square.

However the wheels can also flip up-n-over onto
the deck and the thing now floats, has 2 props
at the rear. There are 4 cavities on the top deck
      that accepts the road wheels.

Chris winks and tells us with a straight face that
the 4 wheel cavities was the perfect size for
couriering VB cans to the pool… :p:p

Damned this guy is a great salesman! 😀

At the same Funtastic stand, last year’s award-winning
Edge Hovercraft has spawned a little brother.
Edge uses 2 fans to power & steer, mini Edge
uses 1 fan and rudder panels.

Naah. ‘Chris’ sucks. I asked if I could just have a 30 second look.

      Chris : “Sorry Sir.”

It’s only toys! And don’t call me ‘Sir’ nerd!
      BOO! :dead: 😀

Well obviously he didn’t believe you were a true “buyer”.

      Were you carrying a 200-butt chequebook?? :p:p

From all indications, the small boxed 3 should be around the same as the old BCGs, and the big boxed 2 would be about 40-50% dearer (RRP say $50 & $80?).

Timewise I think they were talking a June/July intro (meaning you’ll see it on the kiddy TV hour) and they’ll start shipping soon after for the xmas leadup.

not cheap but it gets to you in perfect condition!

still would work out better than buying them locally.
