DON’T TELL ME TO SEARCH BECAUSE I DID SEARCH AND DIDN’T GET GOOD RESULTS!!! And I’m mad because this is the FOURTH time I’ve typed my post because my post has been rejected FOUR TIMES FOR NO ADEQUATELY EXPLAINED REASON!!! Anyways, my friend and I plan on racing Mini-Z’s and his ZipZaps versus my MicroSizers. And I would like to beat him. Of course it takes skill, but his ZipZaps are way faster than my stock MS’s. First I would like your opinion. I usually drive my MS Pro with the turbo button held down the whole time… Which is better for racing: MS or MS Pro? I am going to soup up two MS’s, and I need help deciding which is better MS or MS Pro because I’m on a budget and have never had a race before… We will be racing on an RCP Track. I have made a list of what I plan on doing, and put an asterisk (*) for everything I don’t know how to do/need help with.

      Dual Motors*
      4.2 Motors
      Dual Li-Po* (later… lithium chargers are expensive and I’m on a budget…)
Rear Tires – Pink tires from GS-07 set
Front Tires – any tires from S-02 BitRacer set
      MOSFET job* (Hello MicroAmps!)

this site suffers from technical issues so your previous posts may have been lost entirely. i think you have to murder aaron’s family before he deletes one of your posts!:D

now onto the answers. first up, if you think micro sizers are a poor comparison to zip zaps, then buy a zz!
i’d recommend a ms pro (2 speed) as it’s good to have the slower speed for technical sections and you can always bypass this feature by doing what you already do, ride the boost botton.
after that there’s no 1 definitive answer to “how do i make a race winning car”. it’s a combination of many things, motor, batteries (how many, what type), gears, tyres, steering, pcb, fets, etc, etc.

but on race day there’s one contributing factor that can surpass all others; skill.:8ball:

This setup is nice on paper but preety useless in reality. Lets go step by step:

Dual Motors* – U must be aware that top speed will be lower than with single motor (motors aren`t EXACTLY the same so basically weaker motor will holding faster down. So don`t bother with that

4.2 Motors – that is ok

Dual Li-Po* – Now that would fry the PCB and motor (actually frying the PCB can be avoided with a little trick , but motor will fry for sure).Even with single li-poly you will need a custom heatsink or you can say goodbye to the motor after a few laps.

Rear Tires – Pink tires from GS-07 set – Now this is the weakest part. Since the car would be very light and fast due to li-poly, constant flipping is unavoidable. My advice is to use Pullback or alloy rims with AJS2000 sponge tyres
      (available at http://www.ncphobbies.com/164slotcar.html )

Front Tires – Use pullback front rims with tyres

MOSFET job* (Hello MicroAmps!) – Agree with that 🙂

and u forgot 8.25 or bit racer gears…

BUT NONE OF THIS WILL HELP YOU IF YOU DON`T HAVE DRIVING SKILL !!!!!!

Ummm about the dual motors and dual li-po… MicroAmps says with his MOSFET upgrade, the car can take over 12 volts. Dual Li-Po for 1/64th scale size will give out 3.6 volts… There is a thread on BitRacer.de where an administrator (Microsash) upgraded his Bit Char-G so much, it broke 51 km/h on the speed checker. Keep in mind though, it was a Tamiya Speed Checker, and let’s just say those aren’t the most accurate. It’s in German so you’ll have to translate it using Babelfish (or something else if you know of something better)

ok i have done every one of them mods.. teh dual motor technicalyy can get u more speed because u can use non standard gears to get HUGE ratios

running two 3.8 is much better than 4.2s they dont have enought torque.

li-po is easy pretty much empty out the chassis and stick them in and fit everthing else in around them.

tyres i find depends on what ur running if its perfectly flat lino or sumthing then get as soft as u can up back and a medium on frounts (will help stop it flipping)

as for fets maybe try getting a biff they are arwsomly easy to install and get great performance

few thing i suggest put in bearings at rear and frount not hard to do.. just look around on a german site for a tute and also if ur game u can put bearings up frount which is abit harder.. also get some AFX slot car springs and get suspention on the frount this car ur building will be nuts on perfectly flat surfaces but cornering will be hell so get springs to help that… lower ur body tons to get CG down low.. put 2 or 3 springs on the steering arm to help it centralise which will hep stop rolling..

Thanks for all the help. But that’s not true. A 3.8 motor has 35 newton per meter, while a 4.2 has 39 newton per meter. The 4.2 has 4 newtons per meter more than the 3.8, which means it has higher torque.

dont trust what you read. ask around people have much better experiences from 3.8 that 4.2 .. i asume ur talking perfection 4.2 and BCG 3.8 the tomy 3.8 are the BEST motor my a mile

tomy don’t make a 3.8, “bcg motors” do. but you’re right, it’s a nice motor. you wanna good motor? get a zz purple nitrous express. might take some work getting it in the chassis but well worth it.

lipo batts are 3.6v so dual lipo will give you 7.2v. i think this is way too much unless it’s gonna be a drag car. one lipo or 2 regular batts is plenty fast enough for track racing, maybe still too much. honestly, go with a single cell with fets. plenty of power and nice and light.

icebreaka, i may be discovering new scales but when i turn up to the 1:10 racetrack there’s at least one 1:64 with me!:8ball:

      *ahem*

      HAHAHAHAHAHAH 39 Newton metres??? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

THAT IS OFFICIALLY THE BIGGEST CROCK OF SH1T I’VE EVER HEARD TO DATE!

e.g. a 500cc motorbike engine would be expected to output that amount of torque….

In my experience the 3.8 has shown to be a very torquey motor.

What exactly do those numbers mean? You are the first person to say that 39 newtons per meter is bs. I think I’m still going with the 4.2 because only 2 people said that the 3.8 is better than a 4.2. I still don’t even know what torque means… btw I’ve always wondered what does cc mean?

      cc = cubic centimeters.

      torque = turning force

perfection motors marketing dept = good story tellers!:D:8ball:

So umm, if they are good story tellers, does that mean they don’t have 42,000 RPMs? 🙁 I was looking forward to the 4.2 high torque motors 🙁 those freaking liars! 👿

I did a Google search for something about motors… I can’t remember exactly lol… but umm this was one of the results. It says that Perfection motors are pretty good! He was using the 3.8 though… A common misconception though is that people think lower RPMs mean higher torque, higher torque means lower RPM. That’s not so with electric motors. It’s true with internal combustion motors, but I bet my bottom dollar we won’t be seeing one of those for Bits any time soon (that’s not saying much though since I am currently broke…). Here’s the link that says Perfection 3.8’s are good.

the 3.8 is deffiently my favorite motor.. eletric motors are very complex the equations for the physics behind them say the more turns the faster it goes BUT the more turns means less current due to resistance so its all about getting the right mix its hard to work out. just experiment with them till u find what u like
