well…..nicads/nimhs are 1.2 volts. Get a NiMh cell cause they are have about triple the capacity, and maintain high voltage over 80% of the discharge curve, as opposed to nicads poor capacity, and maintained voltage over only 50% of the discharge curve.

The verdict: Nimh cell will go just as fast, but for far longer. Though they do have a little higher internal resistance than nicads.

If you want to see an unbiased battery test, check out :

Seems like the NiMH really makes a difference.

I’m gonna have to get one of these.

I tried that with my Orbit MicroLader Pro. But as the reciever is always drawing current from the battery, it says ‘accu defective’, and bluntly refuses to charge.

there is a battery world in penrith, otherwise look in the yello pages

btw, I do not suggest using the NiMH in the char-g, not if you are going to use the controler to charge the car, cos the life of the battery is not going to last (due to the way the controler charges the battery)

I wouldn’t touch lithums, if you don’t charge them right they explode!

if you can get around they, lithums cell are great
