ausmicro.com will be running a ToyEast Group buy for any and all members interested in picking up anything from ToyTeast.com.

Thos of you who have participated in previous group-buys will know that typically you can order things and have them arrive at your door slightly cheaper than ordering them yourself, you also have zero hassles with Credit Cards and exchange rates becuase you pay ausmicro.com in Australian Dollars!

We do this by shipping big boxes of Stuff to Sydney, or Melbourne etc for distribution/pickup there, instead of sending to 10 different addresses. Anyone outside those areas gets stuff sent direct from me to them and pays a tiny bit more to cover the increased postage.

      For those are interested:
      Here’s how it works
You go to Toyeast.com and work out what stuff you want. List it in a post in this thread – I will then go through and work out the Australian Dollar pricing for the items landed in your City/Door. You then read the post I make and say “Yes i’ll take this this and this” and it gets added to a confirmed list at the bottom of this Post.

Once we have ‘critical mass’ of orders (about USD300) everyone pays the AUD into ausmicro.com bank account and I place the order. It turns up within 7-10 days and gets distributed.

Anything that is available from ToyEast can be ordered this way.

How does the AUD price get worked out
We build a test order to establish the actual shipping cost of the items – it’s a fixed rate charged by TE per item + a flagfall – the more items the lower your share of the flagfall… That gives us the ‘real’ cost of your item/s shipped as part fo the group order.
We use http://www.xe.com/ucc to convert USD to AUD, then we add a coupelof % to cover currency fluctuations which may occur between the quote and purchase.
There’s another couple of % to cover the actual fees charged to get the $$ from our bank account into ToyEasts hands.

All in all it works well especially if you’re after small cheap items that would normally have shipping costs higher than the price of the item!

The List of who’s getting what

There’s no great rush to get it all together. I’m cash-poor for about 2 more weeks and I figure it’d take that long to get enough people on-board 😉

      can i get 10 x http://www.toyeast.com/v2/proddetail2.asp?pdtid=A05001350

      if not don’t worry…:)

Sorry, can i cancel this order, i didn’t relise they would be that much *edit*

I suspect it’s a typo, but if it’s not I can assure you quite a few would be coming in the order 😉 Only hassle is they’d be about USD2.99 with the shipping included – TE has then as a fairly heavy Item…. still a bargain 😉

      OK – I’m assuming the X-Speeds are USD0.99 each…
Takata, I’ve added your list to the top post – couldn’t find a Ball-Diff with ToyEast currently and they don’t do alloy gears 🙁 Your prices are also “per item” whereas everyone else has them tallied as total for the number of each item they are after…

Might be an Idea to visit the web site and then post the link/stock codes of the Items you want, it’ll reduce the chances of confusion / incorrect orders (also might make Aaron’s life easier

Hey Aaron i have put the total on my original order and i am just waiting to send the money. The ausmicro bank is this a dedicated account as i do not want to use my credit card, if so can you please send me the relative details so i can get the ball rolling.

When does it look like the order will be placed with TE as i am going crazy up here waiting in anticipation of getting these parts into my car so i can start ripping it up.

      thanks takata

Takata, I’ll annouce final calls for order the middle of this week (Wednesday) and you can deposit directly into our bank account (using cash or direct transfer).

Kitsune and z-beam I’ll count the items from ausmicro.com seperately as they’re running from local stock.

With the dollar staying high I may revise prices DOWN after the order is placed and the currency transfer gone through to refund the difference. ie I’ve done all these calculations at a fixed rate so that everyone is getting the same deal. I may use any extra to support shipping by Express instead of regular as an example.

Aaron, thanks for putting up my order, but I would appreciate a cancellation on my order, because the motors that I was wanting(what I needed) seem to be out of stock…
Also, since I am now modifying the bit’s motor housing, I don’t even need the heatsinks

      thanks for the opportunity,

I’m declaring the opportunity to get in on the Group buy CLOSED.

If everyone could make payment for their list of items ASAP. http://www.ausmicro.com/banking.asp has the details.

Thanks to the exchange rate (everyones price is calculated at the same exchange rate) being better than expected, and the buy getting up to a good size I’ll use any ‘extras’ to get faster shipping and pay for the shipping around the place. (ie z-beams, Jamie, etc etc)

OK guys I’ve queued two orders with TE (getting around the restriction on iWaver02, 04 availability) and there’s a couple of items that aren’t available at the moment, they’re basically the steering wheel sponge and the stainless antenna pack.

I am waiting for a definite answer from TE about these so deposit the full amount. I will refund if I can’t get the bits.

Essentially we have a few days to get the cash landed before I have to do the transfer to TE. So please please please do it sooner rather than later.

Those wonderful people at TE just e-mailed me this afternoon to say they were out of stock of something in the order, despite it being in stock when I ordered it, when they confirmed pricing and when they got our money.

*groans* 6 days and they’re only packing the freaking box now!

Aaron, please don’t get me wrong, i’m not unhappy, I just won’t be here after the 22nd, no biggie, just dissapointed in TE given how prompt they’ve been in the past for me, but given the time of year it’s to be expected, I’m actually more dissapointed that they took your money for goods they had in stock, then effectively sold them to someone else …

Not my money 😉 Our money 🙁 But either way in about 6 e-mails we’ve got it sorted as best possible and the box is on the way.

TE I find are pretty good at getting stuff sent, just the accepting payment (24+ hours for PayPal) and getting stuff packed… Most of our wait was becuase of IW02/IW04 bits that only officially released on the 9/10.

You’re right too I did let the buy run a long time in the hope that we’d get stuff before xmas (and most will) but it also was a risk 🙁

There will be another one in early/mid-January.

Pricing is always variable becuase ausmicro.com (ie the business) doesn’t put any form of retail margin on the items. So it wavers with exchange rates etc, but typically you’ll pay less than if you arranged a small TE purchase yourself.

And you certainly don’t get the headaches

      Takata,
Antennas were not paid for in final calculations as they were out-of-stock at time of order.

I must have misread the bit about 2 sets of wide, but it’s no problem to swap.

The heatsink – my bad there, I found the blue one sitting on the floor where I packed the box yesterday.

If you can give me an address in Gosford I’ll Express Post the tyres and Heatsink there?

I’ll include a prepaid to get the ‘wrong’ set back to me….

      A.
