For a couple of months now Trinity has been doing some mystery ads featuring a spider. Some ppl thought it was a new range of motors, mainly electric etc.
But now it turns out to be a truck!
Or rather…. TWO trucks!! one is “1/7th” monster, the other a 4WD 1/18th ST.
The Spyder is here! Trinity?s first release in the RTR car field is a big one. The Nitro Spyder is a super sized 1/7th scale nitro ready to run monster truck that comes equipped with a tuned 4.27cc R/C car engine. The 427 Monster Horsepower engine was developed especially for monster trucks and hi performance and is not a helicopter or boat engine converted for car use. The Nitro Spyder power plant makes it the fastest of the racing style monster trucks.

The Itsy Bitsy Spyder comes factory assembled in a mode designed for the beginner racer, where all that needs to be added to hit the track is 8?AA? alkaline batteries for the transmitter.
The Itsy Bitsy Spyder was designed to fit the super fast Trinity ?Micro Monster? motor. Before release, Trinity made a running change to the”Itsy Bitsy Spyder” to make it faster, a better buy and more convenient because the addition of the rechargeable 1200 plus MAH Ni-MH racing pack and charger.

Revo looks like a nice race truck but I don’t think it’ll stand up to the rigours of bashing – not the definition of “bashing” the local boys here think it as anyway.
Isn’t it time you visited mainland again, J old boy? 🙂

About the ferry, if you go on it BRING SOME MINI Z’s!!!!!!!!!
Theres a big carpet area made from that felt-like carpet which is usually almost completely vacant. Take at least 10 sets of batteries, cause the trip is boring as fuck…

I take it you’re talking about the 1/18 spyder?
Trinity is only new to making off-road cars, so who knows if these cars are any good.
The chances are that they will be discontinued in a year and parts will be few and far between.
The AE RC18T will definately be a good vehicle, they are one of the….if not, THE highest quality manufacturers in the world, they make good stuff :p
The things you migh want to look at are:
-What do you get in the kit? Just because one kit is dearer than another brand, doesnt mean it is less value, i.e. i am certain that the Spyder has friction shocks, which puts the RC18T in the lead.
-Parts availability, no bloody use having a car if parts aren’t easy or cheap to get.
-Durability/Design….well the less sh1t that breaks, the better, right?
Hopups…everybody loves/wants/needs hopups. Both these cars can use the same motors, such as brushless mamba etc. Due to the popularity, and AE following, I think the RC18T will have much more aftermarket support.
Wills, I also had a good look at a REVO in an LHS ($1200 :dead:) and it does look a bit fragile, the chassis is quite chunky and rigid, but the A-arms look quite under-done. Also those shock-cantilever-pivot-thingies seem to be breaking a lot….but alloy substitutes are here now.
