I am planning to get into r/c car racing. Could someone advise me:

      1) If there are any diff between iwaver 02 and Kyosho mini-z mr 02 apart from the price?

      2) Is Kyosho better make than iwaver?

      3) Does Kyosho have more modification parts?

      Thks

      1) yes there is a difference the kyosho uses better quality manufactoring and materials also higher quality electronics (hence the higher price)

      2) if u have the money the kyosho is better

      3) 90% of parts will fit both Iw and kyosho but if u have the kyosho u can be sure they will only a few servo bits wont fit both

if u want to race i suggest looking into whats around i think u might find in your area there arent many mini-z racers

according to hobbyco, the mr02’s never got a local release… hence the rediculous prices IF you can even find them here…

have a look in the ausmicro shop bcd for some nice cars to choose from.

If there’s any particualr MR02 you want please let me know and I’ll price it for you. The ausmicro.com shop prices are competitive with prices from HK etc and typically much more competitive that Hobby Shop prices.

In Singapore you should be able to get deals around the USD100-150 area depending on model. However realistically you want to have plenty of luggage space to take the 1.5kg of MR02 package 🙂

Things to keep your eye out for in shops in Asia are Bodies and alloy parts as they’re hard to get a wide range in Australia. We stock a lot of alloy stuff but just can’t afford to stock all the options as there’s not enough demand here yet.

If this is your first ‘z I recommend you get a stock Readyset, add a ball-diff and then simply enjoy driving it fdor a while. You won’t start breaking parts or needing hotter motors initially. It means you learn the car, and can customise the handling and performance to suit your skills and driving style.
