  The Bad News:
  
  On the night of the 9th of June AEST a hacker manipulated a security flaw in the MaxWebPortal code that runs ausmicro.com and changed several posts, renamed items and deleted a user or two.
  
  This was a pathetic act of someone with little skills and no sense of decency. The resident of Qatar has done his country a great disservice as we re now blocking Qatars largest internet provider.
  
  To ensure the site is running without any trace of this defacement I have reverted to a 2 day old backup that has all users instact and everything in s state I call ‘trusted’
  
  The Good News:
  
  The method used by the hack was known, and manipulated bugs in the Portal code. I had spent the 9th of June building the site with the bug fixes and had hoped to roll it out today. Unfortunately the rollout was 1 day too late.
  
  The upgrades to security have also included a few improvements to other things in the code, you ll see these as you browse around and post.
  
  I d like to assure everyone that their passwords are safe. No user can read/extract your passwords not even Admin.
  
  So come on everyone, lets get back to business talking about R/C

  the thing i hate about hackers is they just crap off ordinary folk like us. i’d be far more impressed with their skills if they could do some good with them like substitute photos of george w with donkeys or create a seek and destroy prog for child porn.

  Yeah gotta agree there Pete. I’m jumping around trying to fix them up where I can, but at least we’re actually secure now! Finally!

  Becuase I believe in an open community I’ve left your posts here. But I should point out a few things. Nothing is learnt by destruction, nor is anything learnt by looking at a webpage that gives you clear instructions on how to do something, be that wipe your arse after taking a dump or ‘kiddie scripting’. If you were actually building up any skills at all you’d be one of those people writing the web page and working with software developers to fix bugs like the one you manipulated.
  
  Nope sorry you’re just a pathetic kid who thinks the way to be cool is to be a bigger arsehole than anyone else. One day you’ll grow up… I hope for your sake it’s vefore your infantile attempts at learning land you in gaol.
