Trackman, if it runs ok on the charger then the car is ok, the only problem is the battery.
Somehow it is not connected properly.
I’m with ph2t on this one, double check that the battery is touching the contacts properly and that the positive (+) end is toward the right when the front of the car is pointing away from you.
