I’m thinking a nitro conversion could be a possibility.

Using an APS .061 with a custom made head and exhaust, it could be done…

Or just drop in an OS 21 VZ-R hehehe

I would imagine they’d be capable of 20km/h+ fresh from the box, and with a hotter motor, esc etc…anything is possible…

…i seriously cant imagine they will be doing this with the pipe and the block on it…I reckon it will come out looking like a TAMIYA EP car…no worries…The body as it is is not bad either…makes a change from the ghastly MMT bodies they have put out…

      BitHed the difference is…

A Stadium truck is meant to have ST bodies, this is a buggy…

…Sorry Jamie…I wasnt very clear…I meant the colour schemes but never mind…plus i like to fit ‘unusual’ bodies to my trucks anyway so it doesnt really matter…The Mini T with a Hummer body isnt to my personal liking though 🙁 Just my 2 cents 🙂

…May as well revive this thread as its a good one…

…The Half 8 from KYOSHO…as most of us know its te 1:18 (or thereabouts) scale of the world-class Inferno MP777…

…Its EP…there is no doubt about that now so please dont hype on about how its GP…

…At this stage KYOSHO is saying early next year which we figured out to be about February BUT there is also a movement that says te car will be ‘officially’ unveiled / released at a show in Tokyo in May, and then physically on sale in time for the Japanese bonus season which would place it in about the start of June…

…Price at this stage is BETWEEN 18,000 JPY and 22,000 JPY…We can get any closer than that…This RRP correseponds to what was discovered on site at KYOSHO FRANCE 🙂

…KYOSHO has said they want it to be a PURE offroad machine…They are setting it up to race basically, building in as much of the throughbred Inferno family as they can…They have also said they want end-users to be able to use existing Inferno parts…now the difference in scale makes this a little difficult to swallow but thats whats been said so far…They have said they are going to focus on adjustability, just like its big brother…toe-in, camber, the whole deal…They will also be doing te TRADITIONAL colouring we have seen before and something else…

…they have said that this is the FIRST in a series of 1/18 units they are looking at doing…i will take THAT comment with a pinch of salt until something else shows up…

…KO (which essentially IS Kyosho) will be doing the electronics…No i thought they would be working on something new and they might be but another opinion is that they will be putting an EXISTING servo in there…KO has quite a dinky one out now…its small and strong and will likely be perfectly suited to the offroad job that KYOSHO wants it to do…

…The 1100 battery isnt hugely popular here right now so im not sure where the power will come from…I have suggested elsewhere that this might be a market chance for SANYO to join the party but that is pure speculation…

..right now there are NO plans for a kit; RTR only…

…above all else we need to remember that KYOSHO is always slow…ALWAYS…and we need to know that AE is imported into Japan by YOKOMO who i can imagine wont stay quiet for long, although right now they are throwing everything they have at the drift sensation 🙂

…what if TAMIYA gets in on the 1:18 set with something other than the TLT? Hmm…one does wonder…

      …More to come 🙂
