the radio it comes with is a futaba and ESC (futaba again)… there is a 90% chance of one of these showing up in melbourne in about december :D…Edited by – Aaron on 22 November 2004 12:34:23

“DTXC3307 380 Motor w/Connector”why wait? :p
Tamiya TLT-1 is a bigger 1/18th and uses 540 motors!!
🙂 -
September 10, 2004 at 10:40 pm #55409
yeh but the TLT is way to high and is a rock climber monster not a AWD ST…. wont handle the same
-
September 11, 2004 at 5:12 am #55411
heh. But 1/10 Stadium Trucks are usually 2WD not 4WD; that thing’s a weird hybrid of some sort.
TLT-1 is geared very high, too high to be a rock climber. Out of the box I think they’ll do a fair click… not sure how well they take corners at speed but the CoG isn’t all that high really.
-
September 11, 2004 at 12:44 pm #55413
hmmm i thought they were cause they look it.. yeh i know about STS useually RWD but AWD is cool..

merc WTF?? A Mad Force costs about $500-600 RTR…
Add Fuel, and batteries and you’re set.
Of course theres idiots that buy complete titanium chassis/suspension arms and spend thousands on “Bling” bits (which are stronger, but have no give in them, also adds a LOT of weight to the truck).
Bithed, it’s the Duratrax Mini Quake…
Not sure if i like the AE ST, its got clear plastic swing arms/shocktowers etc…
Wills, not everybody can afford a TLT-1….
😀 especially not me.. -

kevsta,
A, it doesn’t get released for about 5 weeks.
B, it’s very potent and well equipped as standard. Just watch the videos on the DTX site.
C, the hopups you’d be needing is maybe a quicker motor (it has a 400 size stock) and maybe an ESC to match, hopefully ProLine will make a range of tyres for it, also turnbuckles and CVD’s would add a little more tunability….
Other things like springs/different silicone shock oil could help tailor the handling to a given surface…
Just wait and see though, if a vehicle becomes popular, so does the aftermarket range, therefore the hopup company has found a nieche, at the moment, it ain’t popular because nobody has one…expect DTX to release alloy parts…

Sounds impressive. Will have to wait and see how popular it’ll be before deciding to get one, or better to get some reviews/videos of it in action.

There ARE videos of it in action…
http://www.duratrax.com/gallery/dtxd11-01b.mpg
and
http://www.duratrax.com/gallery/dtxd11-02b.mpg
I have no doubts of the popularity, it’s great value for money. It comes 100% RTR.
In the box there is absolutely everything you need….the downside??
The charger is an 110v Merikan charger….
The kit comes with:
-Preassembled truck
-Pre-Painted body
-Installed ESC
-Installed Futaba Receiver
-Installed Futaba Servo
-Futaba 2ch pistol Transmitter
-DTX 400 class motor (big)
-DTX 6 cell 7.2v 2/3A 600mah NiCad pack
-8 AA alkaline cells for Transmitter
-110v wall charger :dead:
-DecalsThats great value for 199 US, but merc blue and myself think that the price may drop to $150US for christmas.
-
September 14, 2004 at 12:05 pm #55452
hey jamie this we should get some $$$ from DTX for all this advertising… also with the christmas martket you dont know what the exchange rate will do also casue of the election
also how many of us dont already have a 110 – 240 transformor OR a 240VAC or 12VDC charger anyways

That video action is awesome.
If they do drop to $150US (cross fingers)- it’ll be bloody good value. If shipping is say around $50US each to get them here – it works out to just under $300 AUD which isn’t too bad at all considering that it’s ready to run. That’s just a touch more than a kyosho mini-z monster truck when they first came out.
If a group buy of this happens around christmas time perhaps we can get a better price.

September 19, 2004 at 2:10 am #55582
I want the DTX the RC18T and the Mini-T and everyother 1/18 scale vehicle (except maybe the Micro RS4)
-
September 19, 2004 at 4:33 am #55585
Mini T needs too much $$ to make it as good as the others.
For me its a toss up between the other 2….but bugger it, im getting an Associated RC10GT Truck.

Grafix from one18th.com has made a shaft driven 4wd 1/18th stadium truck based on the X-ray M18
http://www.one18th.com/projects/MT18.php
He’s not saying much about what parts he’s used, its being published in a magazine. sounds like this thing will have alot of potential though.
