Panda, don’t even bother with the 27Mhz ones. Get the 40Mhz. They have way better range and they don’t suffer from the “last command remembers” issue the 27Mhz suffer from.
ph2t.

TOMY Japan has delivered BitHed an ‘official’ warning to the words of…’SOME frequencies are not able to be sold OUTSIDE of Japan due to the fact that are illegal so be careful…”
We ‘officially’ replied…’Gees dude… Like… Give a sh*t…”
BitHed has spoken 🙂

Too late! 🙂 Its here already.
Like I really “need” any more BCGs… :p but I just wanted the Countach for personal reasons*, so it had to be the 27-A no other choice.
* me got soft spot for any RC Ferrari F40.
Sorta spilled over to Lambo Countachs too. 🙂 -

3 of the frequencies on the orignial BCGs (35, 45, and 57) were illegal (well, not licensed for R/C toy use) outside japan, but 27 and 40 are the standard frequency bands (at least in the UK) for all R/C toys, so it shouldn’t be a problem…

yeah, I thought that 27mhz and 40mhz were what the compacts are anyway, so they must be legal.

http://www.aca.gov.au should be able to tell you what frequencies are availble in oz.
The ACA does very little about designating bands. they just tend to wait for something to become popular first, then write the law to suit what is already out there whether it sensible or not. 433MHz radios are a prime example. -

if 35, 45, and 57 freq’s are illegal then why is it I found stalls full clones running all freqs in the markets

Because they are unofficial imports.
Here’s how it breaks down in the UK
27Mhz (26.96-27.28) can be used for CB radio and general R/C models.
35Mhz (34.945-35.305) can be used for R/C airborne models
40Mhz (40.66-41.00) can be used for R/C surface models. -

And each device must be tested to comply BEFORE it can be legally imported/sold.
*shrugs* It’s illegal to import, illegal to sell and illegal to use….
*sighs*

To get back on topic- at the weekend, I gave my flat mate his birthday present of a lambo super BCG. (27Mhz A). this ran perfectly happily alongside my porsche (27Mhz B) with no problems.

It’s also woth mentioning that My original 27MHz set (initial D set) and my 27 super bit char-G set don;t interfere with each other as well.
assuming this holds true for the 40Mhz sets, it might be possible to run ten tomy cars simultaneously… -

That would be awesome, though I’d have to extend the starters grid on my track around a corner. =o)
