I had the weirdest thought for a mod. I was thinking of removing the stock steering and maybe building a servo from a bit motor. I drew a small diagram of what the linkage would look like. I would have to lay the motor down, but wow! would’nt that be cool?

      I’d love to see that!

Would you use the same circuitry from the RX to drive the servo?

Truth is, I’m not 100% sure. I was mainly focusing on the mechanical aspect first and then the electronics. I’m not sure if the RX would do it without extensive modification or not.
      It would definitely be challenging.

a rack and pinion setup would be easily achievable, i was thinking about this the other day…a second motor would control the turning

I saw a custom monster chassis built by “biohazard” on rcmod.com that has a custom steering setup. It is cool, but I would love to develop one for a stock bit.

GT, if you need any help on the circuit side I’d be happy to give my 2 cents!

mmm i rekon soldering is a skill that is essential for any hobby/modeller person to have.

Oh BTW Panda, do u have anything to do with a hobby shop called ‘Hobby Place’ i think it’s on Lonsdale St.
