Hi, i am experimenting with concrete track surfaces, at the moment it is painted in a mat finish. Not great traction, can’t seem to get any tyres to hook up. Can you get foams to suit AWD and F1. HAs anyone ever tried PVA glue mixed with water lightly sprayed or even engine stopsmoke/slotcar track traction aid. Any help would be appreciated.

      ****EDIT****

Sorry, editing this due to bad info I put out. I sat down with the MA-010 yesterday and fiddled with some gandini foams. It wouldn’t be too hard to incorperate, but they would end up sticking way out and they probably wouldn’t run smooth due to too much slop.

I have my doubts actually as the AWD wheels are keyed for drive and these foams definately are not.

You would be looking for foam tyres, but not foam tyres pre-bonded to wheels which the Gandinis are.

I doubt we’ll see any AWD specific pre-bonded foams as the cost to get a run made is huge. (USD5000 +)

Ok, I’ve gotten a bit futher with this….

Found a place in the States that sell unmounted foam tyres, quite a selection too!!!

      http://www.competition-rc.com/products.php?cat=29

I’ve put in a query to them about shipping to Aus…..

Also, found a place that stocks the HUDY tyre truer…

      https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/seekpart.pl?src=ns&pn=HUD103200

this may be what we’re looking for. I love my gandini’s but I also like my wider offset mr02 shells and the wide gandini’s only come in 0deg offset :(.
Still props to Aaron for having the ONLY varied selection of foams….

more info on the HUDY micro tyre truer here:

I hope they get back to me soon. So keen on this it’s not funny…..

Got my HUDY truer in now and finally did my first set of trued foams….

      Check the gallery here:

      http://www.ausmicro.com/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=42

Just waiting on some more foams from that site I linked earlier. At the moment I only have this set of gandini’s, nothing else 🙁

The challange now is to make an adapter for AWD rims……
