Awesome luck at K-Mart

I tried my local K-MArt a couple of weeks ago. No sign of the Compact CharG, and a rather smallish toy-dept so it didn’t look promising for future forays.

Anyway, last night, on a spur of the moment decision i dragged my GF there to take advantage of the 20% off sale (i claimed I needed work trousers)

Pants procurred, and GF fed up and wanting to get real shopping done, i said.. “just a quick lookin the Toy Dept…”

No changes to the displays, no sign of CharGs .. then out the corner of my eye, lying dumped amongst Tonka trucks i spotted alone grey package.. could it be…. YES! Tomy Compact CharG Silver Honda! Quickly& furtivly I grabbed it in case the family standing around had put it down temporarily, I cornered a shop assistant…. “any more?” i asked, ohh soo politely, to which the system responded.. 1 in stock.. and there it was, in my hands… with 20% off!

I have found them at BIG W and at Harris Scarfe. I think that HS is South Australian only (??) but I picked up a couple of BCG’s for $40 each.

Nah, its not hard to find them under $45, just takes a bit of patience & luck.

I think my average is about $42; most of them bought at TRU in Sept when they had them for $44 incl 2 Energizers. Finding stock then was the hardest bit.

yeah harris scarfe has compacts for 39.95, so i bought 2…my first compact cost 60 bucks from birchalls :smiley7:. I felt so cheated when i saw them for under 40 bucks.

I paid something like $35-40US for my Nismo GTR from Toyeast. They now sell them forabout $25US. Doh!

Go to TinyRC.com and check out a thread called “I should go to jail for this” or something to that effect. A guy walked into a store, found some Char-G’s for sale (20% off I think), ripped a price tag off another item, stuck it to the Char-Gand basically walked out of the store paying $4USD for it!!!

Now THAT is cunning consumerism!

Its maggots like that that mean that when i wanted tolook at the BCG’sin the local Toyworld I had to ask the sales assistant to open a glass case for me. He then stood over my shoulder looking at me the whole time I was there.

Yeah, accidental bonuses, pricing mistakes, sales, etc etc are all good things, but theft isn’t.

If you get something and it legitimately scans at a crazy cheap price, hold your mouth, smile at the cashier, pay the money and walk away with your good fortune. But if you have to manufacture your discount, i hope you get caught.

i got a microsizer for $10 at meijers rang up as a k.i.t racers then i saw the proce 2 days later and they went up to $30 thats sum sh*t becouse they were $25
