I just got a target catalog in the mail and they have the Australian sold BCG’s for $29.99. They are the series two ones with the RX7 and Celica shapes. Pretty cheap even just to pull apart for parts.

What’s the difference between a BCG and a CCG?
Apart from the PCB cover being glued on the the CCG. -

I don’t have a CCG, just a microsizer and quality wise I don’t think there are any major differences??? Both (I should say all 3) are Tomy. The PCB cover is glued on the CCG?? Is it easy to get off without breaking?

yeah its easy to get the PCB cover off without breaking it. and yeah it is glued on.

Yeah it’s easy to take off, once you jump in unaware and break it like I did.
If you slip a hobby knife down the side you can get enough of PCB cover seperated to take it off. You still have to be carefull of the tags at the back of the PCB cover. -

I just went to target today and they had just 1 blue skyline gtr left. I was thinking of getting it, but the packaging was totally destroyed… I think someone was trying to steal the parts…
Anyway, I took the checkout and asked if I could get a discount… maybe from $29.99 to $24.99. The dude rang the manager and he said I could get a $2 discount, which would make it $27.99, but I didn’t take it.
Was I stupid by not getting it?

LoL.. nah smart by not getting it..
The skyline is a series 1 CCG.. the ones of sale also include the series 2 bodies – Celica, NSX, RX-7 and Supra.. so i’D look elseware 😀 -

i just bought my first compact char g 🙂
im a n00b. $28~ from kmart save $11 for this week. Also got a bit more discount with shareholders cardbtw they’ve got the yellow motors, does this mean its a 2.2?
-
November 17, 2003 at 2:02 am #22728
yup! A 2.2 it is. The original Japanese BCG boxes tell you the motor spec on the box, unfortunately the Aussie CCG don’t.
I believe they are all released in Australia with 2.2’s though.
