OHHHH, nice kero what you running on that SS?
ive just got a new EEP trainer which flys so well on a IPS gearbox on 11.1V,
cant wait to drop in a little outrunner into it.

It’s running a noname brushless motor and a noname 30 amp esc – both from ebay. Came with a gearbox for something like $70 all up.
      Powered by 8 cell NIMH.

Yeah I think outrunners are the way to go, I’m hoping to get one for my Cessna soon – I’ve stripped a few gearboxes from going to full throttle too quickly.

merc-blue: what plane did you get?

I’m looking to setup a brushed parkflyer to make use of the brushed stuff that was in the SS.

ph2t – it’s actually not as much as I thought once I added it all up… unless I’m forgetting something.

Slowstick apx $75 (comes with a decent 300 brushed motor, gearbox and prop)
Noname brushless motor and esc apx $70-80
      2 x HS55 servos apx $25 each
      Receiver & crystal $120

      Then you just need batteries.
8 cell nimh or 3 cell lipo.

And a radio (mininum 3 channel). Which can cost anything depending on how much you want to spend.

so far my setup has cost.
120 bux + RX and TX (another 200 for a good computer 6 chan radio ,needed for my helis)
that included everything including 2x 3s550mAh lipos

next stage is for a little medusa BL that should give me Aprox. 13 ounce thrust and the model weights about 5.5ounces RTF.
will have power to weight like a shockie 😀

kero we should organise to go flying sometime i got a mate with a zippy little wing pusher who is keen to join in
