SOme of us might not have the time or room to make and store a char g track so my solution: Save up a bout $1.20. Go to the newsagent and buy a news paper.
Then if you have a carpeted room, just lay down the news paper and then your char gs have a set course and DOnt get as much dust and fibre in their wheels! Sure you cant drift but it still an effective way to make a course!:D

Buy an old ex-school backboard from a garage sale, then you can chalk in different tracks anytime you want.

i made my track using a piece of mdf i found which was 2m by 1m and hell of lot of foam i found at the back of a fish tank store. i cut all the pieces of foam and glued the foam onto the mdf which i painted black. all up the paint cost me 12 bucks the rest was for free!!!:D
this is what it looks like.

guys, it’s not real unless you can visually see things,in reality i would drive it on the street, but at home, i got myself a couple (like 8 sets)chicanes, and table top pylons, and there good enough for my standards which are very high

I’m tempted to try and make a downhill track, like the guys at the BCG Grand Prix have, only modular, so it can be pulled apart, and reused in a different order. Lots of ergonomic chairs around here to give me different heights for supports.
I know what you’re saying about the reality aspect MS, which is why I spent so much time in the design process on my track.

yeah that BCG GP track is great, do you mean the initial D track or whatever it is called. It would be quite difficult to drive down, slow motors would be great on that.

sugoi, that is something you would dream to race on, and those five hairpins at the end of the track are just like in real life on Akina, lol INITIAL B, with a little more detail, and race trimming, people would be lining up to use one of those

Hey TallDude, might be able to do them a bit cheaper in Oz (I know the cost of living is killing you guys:D) – but as you are closer to the manufacturers we might be able to cut a deal.
As for the cost we think its great value (of course) when compared to slot car kits. But we do recognise that enthusiasts like to build their own tracks – but we believe there is room for both.
Any comments (:dead:or :D) much appreciated
Cheers

Hi
The yanks at bitpimp (http://bitpimps.lixlink.com/pages/phpForum) don’t seem to like the word bonzer – they think it sounds a bit too much like boner.
they posted this “well bonzer kinda looks like boner. but hey bit char-g is a stupid name as well. it looks like a good product so id consider. feel free to send me a test version “so I was wondering what the people who invented the word think – Is Bonzer cool or not?
cheers

I really think names can be hit or miss, but even if you miss you can make it work for you.
Ultimately name choice is yours and the products will sell if they’re what people want.

Bonzer is very Australian. Anyone other than an Aussie wouldn’t get it.
There’s a Aussie product like wd40 for getting engines to turn over on cold days. It’s called “Start ya bastard”. Cracked me up.

Anybody seen the movie “The Castle” ?? Extremely Aussie, they showed the movie in the US and they couldn’t see what was so funny about it. I personally thought it was hilarious.

LOL I need that stuff! has any one seen the dick smith matches?. On the bit GP nascar tack did you see the clear panel for beneth the road filming? pretty cool Idea. I’m thinking of making a city with actual blocks and allys and stuff for a midnight club style track, what do you guys recon?
-
July 24, 2003 at 3:57 pm #22036
I have a box (emptied) of the Dick Smith matches taped to my monitor, with cut out pictures of clients who are more stupid than dirt.
Midnight club track – sounds good.
The clear section of track was a good idea, but they always have the worst videos. The short ones would be cool if they were longer, and the long ones are always boring. the only exception is on the downhill track where they taped a good run. i want to do a downhill track – it’s looks excellent.
