Hi i wanna buy a 3.8 But i want it to be the original. Not a cheap imitation. What are the best ones? How much? The cheapest ive found one for is 30, anyone have one for sale? or know of someone who does? I just wanna buy one and $30 is a bit too much for just alittle engine.

From what i understand 3.8 are only cheap imitations i dont think that tomy make a 3.8 so you may only be able to get a fake one

Yea, TOMY havent released a 3.8, and $30AUD isn’t overpriced forone, ifthats AUD your talking about. If you think its too much I wouldn’t buy it, it has bad steering and is out of control.

Don’t bother with a 3.8 if you want my opinion. A 3.0 is way too fast as it is, and impossible to control so a 3.8 is going to be worse. I suppose if your doing some drag racing with drag mods then get the 3.8 for speed – nothings gonna beat it at outright speed! You could do the three battery mod then put a 3.8 motor in – that thing would fly :smiley1:

Pcain, you say $30, is that AUD or USD (or other $)? I notice your from Austria according to your profile…

Oh and seeing as the others said it, I might aswell – theres no official Tomy 3.8 motor, onlythird party:smiley2:

When you say Tomy have released the 3.8 I’m assuming it’s meant for a Bit Racer as they haven’t even released a 3.0 for the Bit Char-G.

No, there is ‘no Tomy 3.8 motor’ – not even a Bit Racer one. The 3.8 motors that are floating around Ebay are simply pager vibrator motors adapted to fit in your Bit Char-G.

Yup, the motors were originally made for mobiles/pages I think. I doubt TOMY will ever release a motor faster than 3.0 for the Bit Char-G range!

Its not for me, its for a mate who i owe some cash and hes going to accept a 3.8 but i dun wanna spend 30. Im getting a 3rd party 3.5 for like 16 bucks. I might just stick with that.

With the 3.0 is the actual motor physically bigger thus requiring a different/wider heat sink? If so were do you get these from?

No the 3.0 and 3.8 are all the same size as any other Bit Char-G motor. You don’t need any special other parts.
