Comments on the new look!

I just thought I’d start a new thread for us to talk about the new design.

To answer some questions:

– Themes: There are at least 4 more to come. They’re mostly different coloured variations of the Green CSseries-VI but there’s more to come. As you can all see they work very well and this means we will be doing some seaonal decoration 😉

– Smilies:Yes I’ve kept all the old ones, and there’s some new ones. We may rework more into the future.

– Stuff’s moved!

Yup lot of things have found a new home. For example if you click on the ‘Heads’ above a users name you get a mini-profile and the buttons to PM or e-mail them.

You can now report a specific post to the Moderators, that’s done with the litting red whistle in the bar above the post. Please use this if something has be posted that offends you.

Gallery – There’s all there and intact, but we’re weeding out some errr, linking problems.

And about those links. You’ll also notice the site runs off http://www.ausmicro.net/v3 now. The v3 implies version three, and our original forum at http://www.ausmicro.net/v1

Why didn’t we stay on http://www.ausmicro.com? Well there’s a few reasons but the main one is convenience and ability to better handle future upgrades.

I’mm working on a ‘Smart’ method to transfer old links to http://www.ausmicro.com to the same posts on the new server.

http://www.ausmicro.com will have homepage that offers a fast link to the community plus more info and access to the other things we do.

Anyway enough from me, let’s hear what you think!

i got some niggles.

go check my ‘$110 to ship a zzse…’ thread. the page is loading all weird. i thought it was just me butothers can see it too.

another prob i have is we can’t use code anymore like [8] or tags.

and on that note when you quote someone you can’t seem to be able to edit the quoted text, likewhen you just want to quote a specific sentence. [8] (damn!!)

Yeah – I’m not to happy with some of those glitches turning up in the ‘finished’ product. Supposedly fixes will be out soon …. In the interim I can turn off the pretty editor and make some of the problems go away 🙁

I tidied up some of the signature stuff last night and it appears to work a little better now!

Next step is to get the post s formatting correctly 🙂
