Ok
got a MR02 RTR kit coming soon
will be buying ball bearings for it first off..first q,
how good is the xspeed?…the car comes with it, ive read you dont need a FET upgrade to run it..when making say a 4×2 stack do you replace the stock fet?
or solder on top?thanks

x speed motors are good, i used to run one with a 10t pinion and it was definately fast enough to keep you on your toes.
when doing fet stacks you remove the stock ones.:8ball:

3×2 is about where it’s at for optimum performance and space efficiency.
I sell them in 10 packs becuase my experiements showed that beyond 5×2 nothing went better when you balanced up the hassle of making stacks bigger.
3×2 can be made to fit anything (little plastic work on iWaver though) and 2×2 has enough punch for a X-speed to be quite a pleasant drive it can’t take the Plasma Dash hybrids 😉

ok, recieved my FET’s and the Mini z today
one prob, i bought some berings for it off the ausmicro store…i fitted 2 BB to both front wheels, 2 BB to hold the diff axle thingt, then i only had 1 BB to put on the rear wheel thats near the gear…the other one has only got a plastic bushing, cause i was 1 BB short..or is it supposed to be like that…i only opened the bearings today…it had 7 BB in it…but ive taken it for a run in the garage…heaps of fun..:D:D:D

It’s correct, you leave the plastic bushing in the space where the wheel and diff lock together, ie the shaft and wheel are fixed together.

ahh was a bit worried..but now that i look at it, the bushing dont move on anything..
thanks..also, ive looked at the pcb to put on the FET’s..hmmm looks harder than i thought, the pcb is upside down, so the fets go down into the chassis, know where a step by step guide on how to do it?

The quick guide is remove PCB from chassis, (leaving wiring connected) de-solder FETs, solder in new stacks…
I haven’t opened an 02 though so I don’t really know the foibles of doing the disaasembly though.

ikinari has documented a really good way of stacking fets in an 02:
