i’ve bought a few speed controllers in the past from places like ebay and never been able to pick whether they are for a car or plane/heli. how do you guys tell the difference when buying? you can’t even tell on most online shops! is there something i’m missing?

      Andrew.

car ESC usually comes in a plastic/square case,
      plane ESC usually just shrinkwrapped?

Plane ESCs usually have an “Arm=Start” button that you have to press
after connecting power otherwise the motor won’t run when throttle up.
