Mega MX5 Mayhem **beware pics**

After recently talking about the MX5, I realised there aren’t any pictures up for her!!

Her name is Misato. (go see Neon Genesis Evangelion, even tho the series sucked, Misato rocked!)
She is a 2001 6 speed with a red pod (coz everyone knows red pods suck harder!) and a Pioneer head unit.
The iPod works a treat!
Lots of plans for the future, but in November we go visiting Newcastle to get her “dumped”.
A set of Kings and Koni yellows will do the trick *wink*

Me grew up with soft tops, Kitty.
Never been without one in the family garage.

(well baby me actually came home from the hospital IN a soft top incidently, but that’s another story)

Thing we learnt about soft top security when parking:
-don’t have stereo systems
-don’t bother locking the doors
(but most idiots don’t even try the handles, so…)
-unclip the front latch and leave it ajar a few inches

Ooh yeah, another big tip.

Next time you arrive home with the top damp… unclip it
and let it sit ajar before letting it dry out.

When you fasten it down again, the fabric have shrunk and
give a nice tighter fit. Less drumming & balloning at 100km/h
and its totally FREE. 🙂

I guess looking on the bright side, atleast they didn’t release the hand brake and let it roll down the hill. I knew a guy that had a convertible golf and thats what the thieves did – ended up side swiping a few cars and smashing into a parked car before coming to a halt.

Didn’t realise those soft tops cost $7000 man that’s pricey.

Sweet looking ride Kitty the supercharger is ok but i reckon a sweet turbo charger would be rewarding nothing like that turbo spool….i love it I used to own an Mazda Mx6 Turbo only light mods but it was a quick street sleeper with only engine mods..yours would look sick with a slick set of wheels and lowering..But i reckon you should definately BOOST IT…:D

Theres some upholsterers than can repair hoods if its not
totally wrecked. Usual damage is a slit behind the B-pillar,
so the idiots can reach in to open the door.

Believe it or not…..

The alarm was not working, but they didn’t bother to unlock the doors to find out….

At least that gets fixed in the insurance too!

She should be all fixed by the time we get back from QLD.

its an import. VEI. same power as the aussie VTI I stand corrected🙂 (not VTIR = DOHC, like my honda prelude:) but more fuel efficient. nice to see on the road cruisen i must say!! :smiley16:

The jap import “Ferio” had wierd one-armed headrests for the stock front seats.

As for engine… the ‘economy’ VTECs (SOHC) were as bad as the CVCCs of the 1970s, sorry. Not a match for the DOHC “Si” in that same body shape.

Enough room to stick an Integra’s 1.8 in though. 🙂

lol……belive it or not Kitty, that used to be his daily driver….mind you he didn’t have far to go back then. rides a bit rough (as can be expected) amazingly, he still has a decent turning circle 🙂

TallduDe & PeteWah: 1.6l SOHC vtec, not turbo. Just a big a** front bar with pretty bolt on highgloss bars running accross the front. That’s it!

PandaBear: He actually wanted to go the whole hog and drop a H22A into it, but he’s saving for an air ride kit for the lexus instead 🙂

it’s an mpeg4 variant of some sort. it’s recorded off my imate http://www.imate.com phone/pda (pocketpc brick thing:)

it plays in on my pc in windows media (noaudio), quicktime (with audio) & on the imate np. its strange cause the last vid that u posted 4 me was also mpeg4…..

An update on my baby….

We returned from our travels afar to find that the stereo has not been installed and the soft top that has been fitted is flawed/faulty.

grrrrrrrr………..

So the car is still at the repairers, and will be staying there until it is repaired to my satisfaction.

That’ll stuff em!!!

Only a couple of weeks to go, and then it’s getting lowered!!
