Hi Guys
Just in case you hadn’t picked this up from other forums, here is a link to my short review of the soon to be launched Metl Tech Racers (from xapp).
http://www.bonzergear.com/html/metl_tech.htm
These are true 1/64th scale digital propo (steering + speed) cars, Li-poly cell, non-bit motors, and die cast bodies.
Cheers

sound cool but the die cast factor will turn off most customers, they look beautiful tho.
whats the cost and do they have a distributor in australia yet?

TeamBonzer says “They are aiming at the plus $70 USD market per car – aimed at collectors mainly (bit like Konami) going for detail/scale etc.”
edit: oh wait, that is teambonzer

Why do you think that die cast bodies will turn off some people?
The shells are easily changed (to plastic if you really want), but with the industrial motors and Li-poly they go faster than a dual cell nakamichi and panther – they also go faster than both the BTG and ZZ SE that uAmps fetted for me.

lipo’s aye damn!
so they are only colector items, still would be good to see them in action compared to other micros.

can i take a guess and say they might be like the Tomica diecast? Minus the lipo’s of course…

bonzer, i said some customers! not me though! the idea of extra weight+power= the momentum and handeling properties similar to a real car.
so what is the expected price of these gizmos?
-

The price is going to be about the $80USD mark.

unless they will be cheaper i doubt they will sell many. that kind of cost on a 1/64th scale car is a bit extreme… considering i could get a iwaver monster truck for 95 aud delivered to my door!

I like the creative spin on the front propo steering.

the video of the steering in action was quite good, many steps but the acceleration didnt show enough steps in power… looks like theyed wipe a bcg off the track tho…

Those Keyence Mad Tunes were 1:70, tiny.
Have a look here http://www.microamps.com.au/keyence_madtune.htm
although you have probably seen it already.
I have done some more reading and the Metl-Techs arent available yet, the first production run is done, they should be available in the next few months.
