hey gang!:smiley2: i haven t been creating any new cars lately, more like bashing the ones ive got!:dead: now that my se is steering well i decided to give it hell and put some big ol lego wheels on it! i also managed to get another millimeter of front suspension travel by shaving some plastic from the knuckle mounts, and i replaced the stock springs with softer ones. just gotta sort out some kinda shell to protect the pcb from the inevitable rollovers.

      the pics live here http://www.geocities.com/bettyk3332003/gallerydirtybits5.html

one thing i did that s kinda new is make some cool looking skid pans for a couple of my favourite jumping beasties. they re more for show than anything, but certainly work well as a physical barrier. i used the aluminium bit off a 1.4 mb floppy, but an aluminium can would be fine. leon made a phat skid pan/bumper outta one. the important factor though is to use something that s not magnetically attractive or your steering will be useless. i just glued them on with good quality superglue.

WARNING!! if you get upset when you discover a little scratch on your shells then look away now!!!

man, how trashed is them shells!!

i just marked the holes using a little packet from some surface mount components and used a small drill bit:8ball:

got some more alloy coolness to inspire yous all, made an air scoop for my ferrari. it works really well, channelling air directly onto the motor which gets nice and warm with the fets and nicads:shock:

pics don’t work? try here http://www.geocities.com/bettyk3332003/gallerymyrides.html:8ball:

      more piccies!:p
first have a look at what a week of ramp jumping does to the skid pans!

i redesigned the hinge on the enertec monster to allow the rear end to do tha twist so to speak! now it looks and behaves much like the h plate on a mini z. it’s a definate improvement, dunno why i didn’t do it this way to start with, bleedin’ obvious in hindsight! doh!:D anyways you can see the old design resting on the wheel in the first pic. and the added bonus is that i get to do some tttt style shots!:smiley16:
