Magtec racing is going to make a few custom bit and microsizer parts. give me some ideas on what you guys want like this.
clear blue, red, green ect chassys ect. this will be like the mini z chassys but the colors will be more truer as the blue will be bluer ect. there will be a suspension bar set the same color included. also give me a idea on some prices.
first question i have is what color do you guys want most and do you want the chassy to be lightend or stock. also would you want the same color pcb cover or clear or another color.

hmm, i guess red, blue, green, yellow purple? should look good, colour the cover, don’t cut corners now! i’d prefer a stock chassis over a ‘lightened’ one, but that’s cos i mod them myself:8ball:

Yeah, the mystic madness paint is great, especially if it’s done well, with lots of thin coats.
Suspension front ends, ZZ mags with interchangeable rims on BCG wheels.
Decals – racing and the new street racing vinyl stuff
PCB boards thal look like a car interior.

aluminium wheels of different designs. my super bits need super rims!!!
maybe aluminium steering arms and steering plates(the peice that holds the front assembly together).
bcg tho… not many zipzaps in oz.

yeh i would like to see some lighter chassis (mybe just thinner) casue thinner would still be plenty strong and easyer to mod… also the clear stuff u guys are using wat sort of plastic is it casue i cant stand that cd case/ruler style plastic that shatters. would suck to modd

Were trying diff types of plastic. and the alu. suspen bar is a grate idea for bits with dual cells thats hard to conrole and will put some weight on the front tires.
heres what i got.
chassys that are lighter
chassys that are clear and diff shades of clear “blue green ect”
Alu. suspen. bars
gold plated motor contacts. -

it would be good to see some alloy rims if that is posible, diferent tyes like the pullback wheels.
-

a magnesium/aluminium alloy wheels would be awesome. make them in different widths if possible.
cosmetic stuff like metal bullbars could be cool as well for the offroad/suv bits out there…
suspension/swaybar and the peice that holds the steeringmagnet in alu.

give us some links to pics a.s.a.p please, i am keen to see the quality.

i know its kind of dumb, but I’d love to see an all-alloy drivetrain… Pinion, transfer and drive gears all made of alloy. Not real practical, but, awfully cool. And LOTS of anodizing!!!!

How about an adapter that fits two motors?
:)uA -
February 21, 2004 at 5:31 am #36724
Oh… A plug in charger for 4 cars at once, so everyone can receive an equally timed charge for races.

How about a chassis that holds 2 batts comfortably, but still fits regular bit shells.

Now THATS the kind of thing we need!!!
Standard mod “Dual Cell Chassis”
Good idea.

Is anything actually coming to fruition, magtec_racing…?
-
February 26, 2004 at 1:43 am #36608
If we draw a line here what we need is:
-alu rims of different designs
-sponge tyres of different hardness
-dual cell chassis
-alu chassis
-carbon fiber chassis
-ball bearing chassis
-titan rear axle (no more bending)
-more gear ratios- something beetween 8.25 and 4.00
-dual motor holder (can be part of dual-cell chassis)
– suspension springs of different hardness (real springs not some plastic crap)
– redesigned charging pad which could actually hold the BitIf you can manage all this you are The King and I will worship you to death….
-
February 26, 2004 at 9:43 pm #36580
that titanium rear axle idea is the bomb! matching gearsets would be damn nice also.
-
February 29, 2004 at 3:19 am #36538
new gear sets for higher torq and higher speed made from derlin. tested the proto and they work nice.
alu. rims dident work out there to small but we did make a set of proline gumbys for a mini z.
titanum axxles would whare the plastic to fast you would need a tini. axle and it would be about $10 so we ditched that idea.
cf chassy wont work. just like a pan chassy idea its to small and will have to much flex.
makeing up a dual motor holder so i’ll let you guys know when we test it.
site is beaing worked on makeing a flsh intro on it so its gonna be down for about a week and we will use our new real site not the geocities crap.

wear the plastic too fast??? thats why i sugested matching titanium gears! and i wouldnt mind paying $10 u.s. for titanium…
-
March 2, 2004 at 3:55 am #36472
Why would titanium wear plastic too fast? I had in mind POLISHED titan axle ….
-
March 3, 2004 at 3:56 am #36437
maybe he meant the gears?
he couldnt think that a hexagonal or square axle would be good to use.

drive on/over charging (kind of like a pit stop set up). Talked about it b4 long time ago. To allow for contiuous run.

Could probably rid up some kind of induction loop charger, maybe
borrow the system from a Braun Oral-B electric toothbrush. -

yes please! there is a guy in england who wants all the public buses to be utilising this technology, not sure how far he’s gotten tho.

More info plse, for us under-educated, panda. I had talked about making a platform out of the adapter input piece of a slot car track. Looping wire and having the track raise so that contacted would be made as the car drives, and stops on top? I have everything I need but time:( Would like to have some sort of a primitive model in a couple of months.

Induction loop charger??? NICE!!!
-
March 5, 2004 at 10:13 pm #36287
That would mean carrying the coil and the diodes on the car as well. More weight.
Could be done fairly easily though.
This is a good idea.
