So I just got an OEM Bit CharG and realised it was

the same frequency as a friend’s car, so I opened it up

to see if it was possible to change the frequency.

When I closed it again it only steers in one direction.

The steering motor does not activate in the right

direction, only left. Looking at the inside it seems the

steering wires are not insulated and may be shorting.

Should I throw it in the bin? Can i insulate the wires

      myself somehow?

How do you change the frequency? Can it be done?

you might have knocked the steering magnet out of place. try disassembling the front end, and make sure your magnet is attached in the centre.

the wires will not short, but there is a chance you broke one of them! check there are no loose ends floating about. it is also possible that one could have come loose from the PCB. (one of my OEMs came with the antenna detached!!!)

*grins* Welcome aboard Ben. I always would say that OEM cars are the worst ones to have as your first purchase 😉

Still as has already been suggested, check for the wiring being properly attached at to the PCB. Check that there’s nothing fouling the steering mechanism.

And worst case disassemble the front end to check the magnets.

Bugger! I’ve disassembled it and no loose wires. Magnet

is in place. Spring is still there, although it sort of

popped out when i opened it so I’ve no idea how to put

it back. One of the wires appears to be tied around

      another wire.

Maybe I just have a dead unit. Bugger ebay! Should

have bought from a shop. My first experience with

      ebay too. 🙁
