im looking to expand my toolbox with a set of pengrip tyres (or 50, how ever many i end up making!)
just one question fellas, do i need to have the fullsize wheel mod? (either the use of 4 front wheels or 4 rear wheels?) because this would be a hassle that i really dont want.
is it a case of they fit snugly on the front wheels and stretch a bit over the rears? or they fit snug on the rear but need to be shrunk or something on the fronts?
whats a good pack to buy?
any suggestions would be great. thanks.

watcha mean by “pack”.
the ones i have made and used in the past stretch for the back rims and fit snug on the front.

snug on front and a little stretch on the rear.and a huge stretch on my monster wheels! but you want it to stretch a bit so they grip the wheel. they don’t have the groove in them like proper tyres. i’ve found that they interfere with the steering a little when on the front, doesn’t hold a straight line as well. and you have to seat them correctly, ie make sure the thickness is uniform the whole way around.:8ball: -

seating them wont be too hard.
wouldnt stretching them reduce the grip?
by pack i mean the pack of various pen grips, what does everyone use?

stretching is fine, keeps the tyre on better.
i went down to the newsagent and took some pics of the pen grip container.http://community.webshots.com/photo/112788495/114125099VZrcPh

i got a couple today, and at first they seemed impressive once on the front wheels…..until….
i put them on the back wheels, and they are so thick (as in the profile, not depth), that they rub on the tab that holds the PCB cover on. YARGH!
any ideas?

you gotta inspect the grips before you get them, take a bcg tyre down next time for comparison. try to get the grips with the lowest profile.:8ball:

i got identical ones to yours, different colors though.
are the blue ones in our photo better? (the ones with the larger distance between grooves)
