these are the tyre set I’ve bought from rcmart:

      2 x TOPCAD (#15133) Tire Only (1 pr) For Mini-T & RC-18T (15133) = USD$9.00
      2 x TOPCAD (#15130) Tire Only (1 pr) For Mini-T & RC-18T (15130) = USD$9.00
      2 x TOPCAD (#15135) Tire Only (1 pr) For Mini-T & RC-18T (15135) = USD$9.00
      2 x TOPCAD (#15131) Tire Only (1 pr) For Mini-T & RC-18T (15131)

I also got an alloy rim set. Funny, the allow rim set has different topcap pin tyres to the ones that come with just the tyre and insert.

lol, as for souping the bugger up I put in a graupner (sounds dirty) speed 300 in it and it rocks!

Tower has them back in stock, but still no Recivers or Servos, so you need an other vendor for them…

All my parts are marked as shipped 🙂

Where is the graupner available from? BTW are you finding you have to glue your tires or are they sticking well enough without it?

he bought the graupner from a boat hobby shop that’s around the corner from me, $25.
and you definately need to glue the tyres on, especially after the graupner!:p:8ball:

ph2t .. get some one to cut the comm on it every now and then also if ya want some speed time it to like 20degrees(although reverse will kill the motor) and comm stick it

Hey Betty, What is the name/address of said hobby shop?
I misread what comes in the kit and need a motor.
The Kit isn’t bad, though the Hex key they provide doesn’t fit all the bolts correctly. The 5mm Pillow balls are have a slightly larger hew than the Diff Adjustment.
I managed to trash 4 of the 8 E clips provided for the shock builds (So I now have rear shocks and no front ones).
I am still waiting on my ESC, somehow Tower managed to get the kit to me before the ESC, even though the kit was the part in high demand (Go Figure) If it doesnt arive in a day or two I am going to be sorly put out

Just went to Hobby Place at Lunch to look for the E Clips.

What size Capacitors should I be using for this little escapade?

right on! i went there once asking for 48 pitch pinions and the dumbass older guy hands me 32 pitch pinions. i had my old pinion with me for reference and was pretty darn sure they were the wrong size. i even got him to open the package and take them out (a task that took him a full 2 minutes, which is a long time when you’re standing there watching, knowing you could have that sucker open in 3 seconds). i’m meshing them in front of him trying to convince him they were different sizes but he’s addamant that i’m wrong. then he says “do you know what pitch is?” and i say “yeah, it’s how many teeth per inch right?” he tells me it’s the angle of the teeth. i was real new to 1:10 at the time and totally confused by this point so i buy them and try them on the spur. wrong wrong wrong!!

when i take them back all i’m given is store credit. i wanted my damn money back or at least a “sorry about that”, but no.

screw “hobby place” in the ear:dead::8ball:

Hey Ph2t May i ask how you got the 18T pinion to work with the graupner 300 motor? the output shaft on it appears to thick for the Pinion gear.
Still waiting on my Damned ESC from tower… Not happy about that at all.

my 16t pinion is not alloy but composite plastic. It’s from the stock xray m18 pinion kit from rcmart.com. Because it’s plastic it bites into the ribbed shaft.

I take it you have an alloy pinion? I’ve never got ’em to work with the grappy’s fucked shaft.

      cheers,

      ph2t.

Yep the Pinions I have are the alloy ones that came with the Kit version of the truck…

I think I’ll see what I can manage with a dremel and a pair of protective goggles.

If I polish off the ribbing and then put a flat spot on the shaft it should work… Shouldn’t it?

If I were to fire up the engine and put a file to the shaft it would be the most effective way to pollish it back evenly.
At the moment I don’t have an ESC…
Would it be safe to simply put 7.2 Volt streight from a stick pack into it? for this or am I asking to burn out the engine that way?

yeah, do four cells for now dude. a 1/10 pack might punch too much under a direct connection.

Got an other stupid Question (I think I’m getting close to the end of my list of em)
The Stock Motor Mount screws don’t work for the graupner, what are the size and thread gage to mount the graupner? BTW My earlier question also what are the details of the Caps I need?

2.5mm nuts and bolts kit from disk smith work well. I think that’s the one. When I get home I’ll check. didn’t the grappy come with a cap on it? hmmmm, shit, I might not be running one then….

Well I found the Mounting screws for the TLT Long Body posts I have match the thread for the Speed 300. Bit of work with th edremel shortening them and that is a perfect fit.
This is what she looks like at the moment, (still need to do the stickers)

      rc18t12c6402ns.jpg
[EDIT]Oops forgot to mention, yep 6 AA cells through th emotor and a dremel sand disk got rid of the ribing on the motor, and then I just ground in a flat spot for the grub screw. So the motor now works for the pinions I have.[/EDIT]

      Woohoo I have a speed controller… 😀
The 18T stil doesn’t run
The servo moves a total of maybe 5 degrees from full lock left to full lock right.
The speed controller wont Program with forward as forward and backward as backward.. so I eithre have to learn to run my controller backwards on have a break in reverse…

Why did I get the kit again?
[EDIT]Woohoo Worked out the stearing… now just have to get the ESC to behave…[/EDIT]
      [EDIT]It Lives…
I tried my Traxxas Controler instead of one of my Mini Z controlers, and I have got the 18T running… now I can start trying to make it run well 😀
