The XaNaVi is a greta looking car too. Awesome. This should bring the hot modders out of the woodworks.

Yeah sure Z, there’s never been another comp previously @ ausmicro, so there’s no precedent there to worry about…..

Aaron, please correct me if I’m wrong otherwise :).

Is it only for BCG’s and Clones or can ZipZaps be entered.

      When does it end?

Bilbo, the comp is for micro scale cars, so I believe ZZ’s should be OK. For all other info check HERE.

UPDATE: Just read the bottom of Aaron’s post at the top of this thread, so it might only be for TOMY Bcg or Clone Bcg, dunno. Aaron could you please confirm?

Yes, you can enter cars that have been entered in other contests. However in your post do not identify the car as “this is the winner of XX contest” Just present the facts about the car.

All Micro cars are welcome, be they Clones, ZZs Tomy indeed anthing – even Digi Q is welcoem!

I’ll edit the top post to reinforce that 😉

No limits. The judges have a set 100 point criteria that all entries will be judged against.

We will post up the judging proceedure and guidelines shortly so everyone can see how the entries will be assessed.

Yeah sorry – I’m in heavy snow at the moment in the “snowed under stakes”.

Everything takes about 3 times longer than normal to address.

Main ausmicro.com PC is down with dead motherboard, I’m car-less and apparently still have to go to work each day… *grumbles*

Also want to make sure it’s all ‘right’ before it goes up 😉

Yagbol, where did you get the PCB cover used in the green ute/truck? Or the one with the seats on it in the convertible. I’ve been wanting seats visible through the window for ages.

Oh, and good use of the background. Nice to see it working for people. Hope you’re happy with the results.

Cabo, that is one insane R-34, I just love that green! So shiny! And those rims are just killa, can’t wait to get my sets from EZ.

I gotta say that I just love the pullback skyline models, they’re just so spanky!

Dave, i take off the old pcb cover, and use discarded cellphone pre-paid cards/thin credit cards to replace it. That would be the base for the seats. Then i scour the hotwheels section of the mall for potential bodyparts.:evil:LOL

Oh, I dig the background:D could you do one that looks like a street in downtown? with a 7-11 in the background or somfin, maybe the store’s sign is the ausmicro logo or something like that. LOL Would be cool for non-race car mods…:smiley2: but thats just a suggestion:smiley2:

      hope this helps!:)

I’ve already forwarded 2 on to Aaron. You’ll receive the same ones.

If everyone else wants to get a copy of them once you see them in action, you’ll have to wait for Aaron to make them available on the site (As I’m handing them over freely for AusMicro site use.).

Nox – nice work. Where’d you source the original body? A bloke I’m in a band with loves the old hot rod style cars, and I’d love to try and get another person into BCGs round here.

Yagbol – I haven’t received anything from you yet. mefurillo@hotmail.com

I think the body is longer than BCG, but can probably be modified to fit a BCG, see if this helps.

I think I got one through to you Yagbols. As you can see, the idea’s there, but my PSPro skills are underdeveloped.

I’ve got plans for a showroom floor styled one, but need an photo of someone looking straight of ne onto the street.

It seems that the painting style on your R34 and EVOne is very similar.

Thanks Aaron. I assume you liked them then. =o)

I’ve had another idea for a showroom one. make it look like a car show as apposed to a car sales room. I’ll try and get time to play with it later today.

I’m not too sure about the gas pumps. it’s a nice shot, but I’m concerned the scale will look wrong with a BCG. perhaps if you get right down low to take the shot???

DaveF is quite modest, his handiwork can be seen through the site in the form of the comp backgrounds and most of the avatars we have. I’ll be updating to his new 64×64 avatars in the next few days!

Welcome aboard CrazyDave and all you other Pimps who’ve made the trek, I like yer style and hope you hang around long after the comps are been and gone!

Farken hell, if i was the judge, you would win by a mile, no offense to all the other entrys. I also hate beetles, so it’s pretty remarkable that your bits have caught my eye. ms char-ged, take a pic with a camera (film kind) and get your local office supply store to scan it to disc. I had to do this a bit b4 I got digital. Really shouldn’t cost too much if you bring them the media (ie zip disk, floppy or cd). Transfer it to your computer and presto:) Where there is a will there is a way.

never buy one of those cheap a$$ digital cameras, my sister bought one and i couldn’t remove it from the usb port, what i mean in computer terms is it couldn’t be uninstalled, and its software took up the usb, i only have two ports so that was a big problem, i had to reformat my computer 5 times to get rid of it

Nah man, that’s just the body that came on the MAT car. Some japanese action hero I guess, I don’t know, I just know I reconized the car to be a ’68 Mazda Cosmo. The car that put Japan on the map, and introduced the world to the first mass produced Wankel engine. (guess we have to say rotary here.:smiley2:)

Yes – unfortunately we are late in Judging things, Please bear with us – when we started the competition we had no idea we would generate some many entries and giving each entry a fair score (we judge on a 100 point scale) is very very time consuming!

A quick overview of the Judging is:
100 Points available for each entry.
Roughly 18 criteria judged at 5 points each
      Remainder are 10 points each
A stock car would achieve 50% on all technical and appearnace judging.
Your posts and pics do have a small score attached to them, but we have plenty of latitude towards how the pics look because of cameras etc. We are looking for pics that show you were trying to to show us something….

      Anyway please watch this space!

      A.

Well its always easyer to enter a car then it would be to judge all the cars so if it takes longer then normal I can see why. 🙂

I like the glints that have been photoshopped into the images on DarkTaris work. Nice touch to the image..

      Dave,
Thanx for the cudos but these shot are not photoshopped, the bling you see is the bling that was. All my pics were taken outdoors at around 11:00am so the sun is just behind High Noon which puts it in the right place along with turning the car. Gotta go for as much BLING as I can Pimp!

Any idea when the winners (and losers) will be announced?

I know – I have just finished up my judging and am waiting on our two fellow Judges to return their scores to me.

Sadly the delay is due to the 100 point criteria we laid down for judging. It’s probably the most thorough process we could have and will return a winner than has done something unique and exciting.

I’m blown away by the entries, the quality and the detial in them are exception. The sheer uniqueness of others make them magic.

      A.

OK Waiting on the last Judge now……

*grins* There’s no clear winner yet as there’s a number of cars grouped tightly near the top!
