How to lodge a picture for your entry:

      First off go here: http://members.ausmicro.com/competitions/

In the Navigation window on the left hand side of the web page
click on the link “Enter your pics”

      A form will appear:

      1) Enter your username at ausmicro, eg: ph2t

      2) In the drop down window select the comp: “ausmicro.com Show Us
      Yer Bits”

      3) Enter your email address, eg ph2t@prahranpianos.com

      4) Select your “home” forum.

      5) Now select the pic of your car you want to upload. Click on the
“Browse” button and navigate to the location on your local
      hard drive
where the pics are, select one and click OK.

      5) Enter some info as a caption, then click on “Upload and enter”.

      6) Once this is done you will be taken to a summary page where the
details of your entry are listed. At the bottom of this summary
section there will be two URL’s you can use to link the picture
of your entry into this thread, eg:

      http://members.ausmicro.com/competitions/images/127CDCF9117C481B.JPG

      7) All you need to do now is link that picture URL into a post
within the “Show us Yer Bits” Competition Entries thread!!!

      All Done!

If you wish to enter more pics, just repeat the process 1) -> 7).

ok heres my 1st entry. i only wish digicams picked up color changing paint better.
stats: stock thunder charger with front tab trimmed to fit tomy shell better.

last week she was on a shen chassis with pullback wheels ms/teal dual cell but that car is disassembled at the moment so i shot the shell on the thunder charger chassis.

paint is a custom blend of gold/krylon color change and clearcoat.
ill put up a vid of the color change if i can

Ok then, here’s some more entries from myself:

      Nissan Gloria

This is sorta a “mod in progress”. The chassis is stock with a l.0. It’s a crusin’ car so I quite like the speed being slow enough to be able to actually look at the car!. The shell has had 2 coats of “Holden Gunmetal” auto touch-up paint, followed by several coats of clear. All the lights/windows were masked, I’m gonna put some electrics in it soon so I wanted them clear. The grill is nice so I though hey! Might as well leave it in there.

This is what I’d consider my first proper paint job…

      gloria_1.jpg
      gloria_2.jpg
      gloria_3.jpg

      Pugeot 305(?)

I *think* that’s the name of the shell. It’s from a Bensu clone. The widows were black to start with, so I continued that. The masking on the headlights, rearlights and other places wasn’t the best, sorta learning with this car,:dead:. The chassis is TOMY, the wheels are pullbacks and the antenna is internal…..

I put this car together just for this competition, but along the way, I became inspired, and did it for myself, but I’ll go ahead and enter it anyways.:D

      -Microsizer Sport chassis
      -Perfection 3.8

      Here’s the first Hobbit Entry.

      Project: Pony Express
Body: Zip Zap Mustang, shortened to fit BCG and convertened to convertable.
Chassis: Precious, Tab Lowered front and exhaust tip attached to chassis. Wheels Painted Gold to match paint scheme. Blue Cat5 antenna.

The idea for shortening the body came from seeing CaboWabo’s Challenger.

I lowered the body by Tab lowering the Chassis in the front and making a custom slot in the rear of the body for the tab.

Side skirts and front air dam (of course).

Driver is from Phast Motors, but I really had to chop it to fit.

Of course I detailed the side mirrors and head and tail lights.

I figured I needed to put up at least one entry from Philadelphia, PA USA.

      Hope you like it.

Finally I have had some spare time to complete my entry.

The base construction is a clone semi trailer.
They have some rather dull controlers so the first thing to be replaced was the radio control
      circuits. Nothing special there.

For the job at hand, more torque and more traction is required than the standard clone semi can offer. A clone tank motor was used for the job, it has enough basic torque to start with.
The base 2.4 volt batteries are ripped out and a
3 Volt lithium battery dropped in. Now we have some serious moving power.
Next thing was to get this power to the ground.
Lots of power is no good if you can’t transfer it.
The standard clone truck has 2 plastic drive wheels, the other drive wheels are just dummy wheels. I added a few extra gears and now we have twice as much traction. Four wheel drive.

      pic_1.jpg

      pic_2.jpg

      pic_3.jpg

Next was to add some nice special effects.

      Headlights, Highlights and Tail lights.

      pic_4.jpg

      pic_5.jpg

The headlights are the 8000mcd white 3mm LEDs.
The Highligts are optic fibre driven by a clear yellow LED.

      pic_6.jpg

The tailights are also optic fibre driven by two
high brightness LEDs. The LEDs are glued to the under side of the trailor while the battery that powers them is glued inside of the trailor.

It’s now all ready to come together.

      pic_8.jpg

Wheels… lots of them !! 26 in all.
If these were real double wheels then this little beast would have 50 tyres in all.

      pic_11.jpg

True to life, the bit beast takes a bit to get off the mark. But once moving, there is no stopping it. The trailers follow very well and the whole train is quite manouverable. It’s quite capable of sharp turns, but trying a full 180 degree turn can result in a rollover.
Yes, you can reverse, ever wondered why real road trains never reverse ?

      pic_12.jpg

The end result is a very big micro vehicle !

      pic_14.jpg

I wanted to add optic fibre side lights down each side of the trailors but the fibre doesn’t disperse light very well and the effect was not worth the effort.
