  it’s a truly sad day for oz.
  
  if you haven’t heard, steve irwin died today from a stingray wound to the heart.
  it almost sounds like a joke and i sorta wish it was.
  
  he was such a great man, he was like 5 great men in fact!
  he was a great conservationist, he’d use the money made from his fame to buy up land and make it protected land.
  
  so here’s to steve, one of the most bewdy bonzer grouse aussie blokes to walk the earth:beer: :8ball:

  thats a nasty way to go, poor fella. the sting’s venom apart from being painfull goes after the heart, if steve did cop a strike in the tikker he didnt have a chance.
  
  a champion of the environment falls, and a part of me wishes it had been some uber salt water croc he died fighting rather than some sting ray.
  
  how many beautiful rays will get unnessisarily attacked now because of this im not sure, but i know with the amount of press this story is getting i doubt anyone is going to be as kind and respectfull of rays anymore.

  here is a bit of trvia for ya the original daytona coupe the car brocky died in (im still shattered over the news) was designed by an american called Pete Brock, i know this coz he managed a datsun race team in the late 60’s and early 70’s. i own a datto thats how i know these things(im bored and look up on the net).
  
  but shit man he was the only sporting icon my whole family extended etc etc liked!
  
  shows the charm the guy had he will be missed that is for sure!
