Tasmanian ausmicro.com folk!
Are you guys keen to get together for a BBQ or minor food related get together some time between late December and early January?
Myself, my delightful other half and the XR6T are heading over the water for about 2 weeks to meet the prospective MIL. Would be nice if we could sneak away for an afternoon or something.
We’re based out of Hobart, but can travel 😉

Ditto.
There might be one or two people interested in catching up if you are coming through Melbourne and can spare the time for a latte’.

I think you’re confusing ‘culture’ with ‘lifestyle’. :clown: You’re born into a culture and choose a lifestyle.
We have all sorts of cultures (and lifestyles) here in Sydney, just none of them originate from Sydney !
Hang on just a tick… I’ve been to Surfers, and I’ve been to Tokyo …. and the difference is ???
Oh yeah.. a beach ! 🙂They’re all just one big happy family down their in tas !

dude, uh uh. both are interelated….
as for Sydney, that just plain sux that place. Melbourne is where it’s at! I mean, Rugby? wtf is that stupid bloody game anyways?
bite me Sydney boys…..
one hardcore Melbournian!

Hahaha, don’t get me started about Melbourne.
If I wanted to visit Greece, I’d go to Athens, not bring it to me !
Now Melbourne has got some things going for it,
great place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there. Puffing Billy bores me after you’ve ridden it once.
Some people say that it’s too cold.. that’s not the problem, it’s when it’s hot and you try to swim… even in the peak of summer you can see iceburgs in that water !Football… you mean “kick and giggle” ?
I tell ya this much… you don’t see rugby players singing after the game like a bunch of choir boys. If a rugby player started singing anything other than mumbling the first bar of the national anthem, he’d get bashed… by his own team mates !
Please.. insult me with something with more substance than football.Rugby… (like kick & giggle) is a DOGS GAME !
‘kick the ball go chase it’! The only difference is that rugby players sniff each others bums like the dogs they are.Union … why the hell do they even have a ball in that game ??? Look, that guys got the ball, lets jump on him and bash him even if he’s on our team !!!
I got to love the Victorian Labour Party though.
They are so good at bankrupting a state that even North Korean Communist Party is amused !!
I hear families from Ethiopia are now sponsoring children in Victoria ?Brisbane… well, since Joh left office you just don’t have anything worth picking on. Apart from political prisoners but you seem to have a catch and release program happening there.

heheeh ….
hey come on.. it’s the one rule of this country everybody has to live by….
There is a pecking order… last off the boat cops the shit from those who got here before them.
Why do you think the black fellas have it wrapped up ?? 🙂I like how people “choose” to be offended these days. Nobody can ruin your day without your permission, unless you let them of course !
Bring on the skippy jokes… I’m dissapointed the new cheapy qantarse airline wasn’t named “skippy airways”.

Sydney is a possibility early next year…
Easterish in Brisbane is possible 😉
Enough of the City rivalry folks!
The main thing is we’re all here to have fun!
Over the next couple of weeks I’m hoping to get some feed back from the Tassie crowd and from my other half to work out a day and place to catch up….

December 11, 2003 at 8:01 pm #21010
I’m ready!
Seriously for those that are in Tas my Partner and I will be in Hobart from the 21st Decemeber through the 4th of Jan.
I’d love to catch up for a few hours and say “G’day” in person and all that….
We need a cheap and easy goign location – preferably where food and stuff can be eaten and bought and so on… So a ‘quiet’ Cafe / pub / whatever would be good?

Jamie – we’ll smuggle you in if required… seriously unless the laws are different in Tas compared to everywhere else I’ve been you’d be allowed in in the company of adults and as long as you don’t booze up or smoke you’d be sweet 😉
I’m sure it’ll be fine!

Yeah, there’s heaps of family pubs (anywhere that does a counter meal allows under18s in the company of adults, as long as the kids don’t drink or smoke).
The Taste of Tas is probably the best spot for a time to catch up during those dates. about 100 food and drink booths and all on the waterfont, with live bands and other music, buskers, etc. Good spot to spend half a day regardless.
I’ve sent you my details, haven’t I Aaron?

December 15, 2003 at 8:48 pm #38807
Yes Dave I have your Home phone in my mobile…
Hopefully you can act as a medium for some of the Tassie ‘mob’ while I’m on the road 😉

Sure. Tassie people, PM me your phone numbers, and I’ll act as a medium. I’ll be on leave the entire time Aaron is down, and most likely I’ll be renovcating, so I doubt I’ll be too far from the phone…. unless the babe report at the beach is good. =o)
-
December 16, 2003 at 8:25 pm #38761
*laughs* I find bringing my own Babe along is essential for holidays 😉
*laugs* I’ll give you a call once we hit Hobart Dave and see what’s shaking up 😉
Melbourne People….. Apparently on Friday night I/we are goign bowling and stuff at/near Crown Casino….

OK Taste of Tas would be good. *waves out window* “Hi Dave….”
I’m here in New Town thinking i’ve dropping into the past millenium 😉 Someone please help us discover normality.
We;re going to try and plan out the remainder of our stay today… Things likethe Cadbury Tour, Cascade Tour, West Coast APT Railway between Queenstown and Strahan etc and ofcourse Salamanca, Taste etc etc
More details to come!
