My wife got me one of those limited edition tomy mini cars for xmas. tn_4.jpg

I never wanted to pick one up myself. And after the ZZSE’s I thought the fully propo bit was still something to keep on waiting patiently for. But to my surprise, this thing is actually a very nice running car. It’s die-cast and extremely heavy, but it’s still faster than an ZZSE. It’s propo system works with what looks like 4~6 step system. It also runs very straight, with no glitches. It is dual-cell, as the rumors say, but the main feature I’d like to point out is the larger, but still small, motor in the car being run off two 1.2 volt 1/4aaa nimh batts. The motor is extremely stronger than the regular motors. Gives me ideas for some modding. If anybody else has any of these and knows the size motors, it would probably be something to look into. For this little motor to be pushing around something this heavy is somewhat amazing. Especially with batts we already have access to.

Actually, just checked. They’re at toy east. GO TO “toy east”, then mini r/c, then check out the box for micro r/c Japan. They’re under Tamiya limited. They’re going for 36 U.S. dollars. I haven’t seen them for any less than 50 dollars since they came out over a year ago. Normally they go for about 60 dollars.

Sadly, nobody cared, and they only made two kinds. The Altezza and a Skyline.

There’s no antenna on these things either! Doesn’t seem to need it.

      Hope this link works.

Yeah, I’ve got both of those models, the Altezza and the Unisia Skyline. Nice detail in the cars, I think they are dual cells, propo, reasonably quick, but they have that dreaded ‘run-on’ when they go out of range.
All this is from memory as I havent used them in a while, they went sraight into the collection.

The range is ok. But like MA said, they’ve got that damn run on system when it goes out of range. It seems more run-on-ish than the super bits, witch makes them a bit of a pain, but the range is better from what I can tell. The motor is what I’m interested in though. Gotta find some of these motors for the regular bits.
