Track construction

I am in the design stages of building a portable RC track, i want it to suit my Mini T but also allow smaller scale on road cars such as 1/18th and Mini Z’s. I intend to glue carpet to sheets of MDF 1200 x 2400 in size and join them together like a slotcar track does. The boarders will consist of 30mm poly pipe ziptied to the edges and objects placed under the carpet to act as jumps and represent undulating terrain for the off road cars and flat sections for on road including some burms. I hope to have about 20 sections giving an area of 60 square metres. Can ayone give me some tips on what carpet will suit mini z’s and any other track building tips/advice.
