Mines not much shorter than a real 1/10th scale car. 20 metres easy, 50 metres with good conditions!
Damn hard to see the car at that kind of range 😉

find the sweet spot and it will work better than new

Yeah mine has about 80-100metres of range after fixing it 🙂 By the time the car is that far away, it is prettymuch invisible.

Standard Mk.1 “Perfex” (aka JR Python, Acoms Technisport) TX
isn’t all that RF-powerful (due to legal restrictions?),
but it was the the same as what they supply for the
larger Kyosho RTR Readysets.Antenna on car also makes a difference.
Without the car antenna wire and the antenna unextended
on my Acoms Technisport, the range is about 4-6′.
With the TX antenna extended, its about 20-25′.For indoor use, that’s fine.

Nah I don’t like experiementing with it either.. Then again I used mine at work… in out building which has good RF shielding (mobiles only work next to widnows etc) and it goes maybe 5m before spacking out into the walls!

GT-ahh got to love a runaway car:) 50 m should be good enough:D and 100 m is just insane:shock:. Jamie do you any delay in signal at that range? or is performance still responsive?

I had mine (complete with foam tyres, retuned supension etc) on the driveway the other night… It’s a short driveway and even then the speed and control can be interesting with the small size of the car.
In my defence it was twilight….

Yes there is a delay Impreza, however it’s only a few millionths of a second or so, so you would not notice anything 🙂

i get about 20 metres, then between 20 and 30m it developes a mind of its own, still (sort of) under control (likes to steer itself), outside 30m forget it…

Mine seems to go further than that, i could drive it down the street for ages before it was possessed by satan.

Anyone tried the option RX antenna booster sold
by Kyosho yet? Its a circuit board that replaces
your pianowire antenna, and stays under the shell.(Pianowire is a liability at chez Bear… it’ll
poke someone’s eye out before long. So I leave
it off…) -

though about getting one but dont trust the strength of reception. How good are those retractables, VR-4?(compared with stock.) Think I may have to get one. As long as the position can be varied to accommodate different shell sizes (and hence different aerial-hole positions on the shell)
Anyone semi-local have any spare stock Z aerials unbent, now that I think of it?? blackeye: -

Just make one from piano wire, I did, cause my other one got caught in my bag zipper and broke off.

tis what I did, Jamie… better reception due to it being 50mm longer too…

Mines 30cm long and can be very dangerous. I have poked my eye 3 times and my face to many to count.
