      hey all

If you are like me, you probably have at least half a dozen or more bit char-g batteries lying around doing jack all.

So i decided they could be used for something. Im sure we all have one of those 1x AAA maglites, which are really a useless dim little thing, and seeing as 3x 1/3AAA batteries = 1x AAA I chucked em in the torch, and replaced the bulb with a 3500MCD white LED. The batteries supply the LED with 3.6v rather than 1.5 from an AAA cell, now ive got a beaut lil LED torch for only a few bucks more.

If 3500MCD aint bright enough, i spose u could drill out the reflector and drop ina 5mm 7000+MCD LED instead.

its hard to solder to some reflectors cause theyre a plastic compund so i can be difficult with multiple LEDs…

What????? Im talking about the torches that have the 2 pin socket for the bulbs, the leds drop straight in. There is absolutely no soldering required.

Don’t touch that reflector… its needed exactly where it is, as its part of the “switch”. Cut or remove it, and you’ll find your Maglite can’t turn off afterwards… (don’t ask how I know  ).

Me… I bought an OSRAM (great Euro brand!!) blue-white LED aluminium-bodied torch. Runs off 2x AAAs, tiny 4″ long with pushbutton switch and works great.

my mistake, I read it wrong and i thought you were talking about dropping multiple LEDs in…
I converted a torch to run 5 superbright LEDs (off C cells) a while ago and was using the reflector as the earth…
