I think it’s becuase ‘monster trucks’ are very very popular at the moment – due to the ease of running on the street/yard etc. But at 1/10th and up they’re too big for some people. So the 1/18th scale is a great compromise size.

I personally think compromise on size = compromise on fun, on offroad anyway.
theres nothing that can get in the way of a 1/8 truck, but a 1/18 will struggle in the deep stuff.

yeah for backyard stuff 1:18 is arite but the full on jumping and stuff (see teh WA video) even the baja king seemed to strugle

Well i think the baja king could go quite well offroad if setup right.
Some good proline tyres and suitable shock oil/spring combos should see good ofroad capabilities.

yeah also i dont think it had a very powerfull motor in it .. it needed abit of a lift for that surface. the baja king is good once setup (aaron has ne i think) just on that suface it seemed to struggle

What the Baja King needs is a Novak Brushless… 👿
But like most things in life, Size does matter.
Bigger is always better if its RC vs The World. -

nah 1:28 is to small for any reall offroad use besides “toy grade stuff” 1:18 is about as small as u can go and maintian offroad functionality without having really really high COG
