So how come I am listed as a newbie with 10 posts and shypo has 400 on the NEW forum (when there arent 400 posts on the whole forum)??? On the old forum I was listed a 23 posts, do some posts carry over from the previous forum and some not??? Not that it really matters I was just wondering.

Sort of, I migrated the user DB but haven’t fixed the missing posts from between November and Christmas. We will be putting those back but it takes a little bit more custom programming (much like adding the ability to have users personal avatars)

The Rep points are reputation, I haven’t fully figured out how they function but like the gold we may find a way to use them or I’ll just axe them from the code!

Just an idea:

Gold you earn by the number of times you log on? A measurement for the “lukerness” of a person?

Rep points for the quality of the posts? A measure of how helpful the posts are? Bonuses for good ideas/thoughts? Deductions for misbehaviour? Like flaming or lying?

Just some thoughts…

I like Crom’s idea. A seperate measure of how often you log on (Gold), how much you have to say (no.of posts), as well as how good it is (rep. point) sounds like a good idea to me. Could be a lot of work for the moderators though.

especially on the Tomy side of things… boring.
Just saw the usual Wild Char-G duo, a whole lot of bus BCGs, SpeedRacers etc. Spare bodies just the few usual ones.
Didn’t see any pullback BCG cars, just the PennyRacer ones.

Pricewise nothing spectacular either, in HK they’re about
HK$200 (A$50) for a std BCG kit. The newer ones like
AutoModellista are up to HK$300, some unpopular oldies
as low as HK$130. Prices are “after negotiation” btw;
there’s no such thing as sticker prices and if they
suss you’re a tourist they’ll be out to skru you.
I think I just pass as a ‘local’. 😉

Takara’s Digi-R is out (with ‘real’ steering) as is the
Yokomo Puchimaru (sp?), but I don’t think these were cheap.
I didn’t get time to demo either of these.

Kiddies in HK and S’pore/Malaysia are into some silly
“battle tops”… from my last visit to TRU, I think the
same craze is here with us too.

Bomberman is passe.

When i went to Sydney for Christmas i found that beyblades were very popular. They had them everywhere!! Well i didnt buy any but me god sisters little brother did. i played with the beyblade and found it pretty kewl but rather spend my money on a ps2. I found that back in melbourne there isnt many around in stores!! I guess that Melbourne is a bit slower than Sydney. But more fun 🙂

That’s where most of the RC shops usually are, all in 1 spot.

I was there 1st week of Jan; couple of shopkeeps I asked
re BCG pullbacks said they had “just shipped” from Japan
but not yet arrived yet. How much are they?

BCG option packs & body packs are $20-50.
BCG cars even easily found in department stores.

Yes forund ‘normal’ MiniZs are approx $550, the newer/rarer ones
usually $600 and the F1s are up to $650. The 4X4 ones are
still asking for up to $800 though.

Yeah, wierd huh?

I didn’t see too many clones around HK, definitely nothing
in a bullet container. A few odd LXXes but apart from that
everything is genuine Tomy.

Given that cheapest BCG I saw was HK$130, not surprising.
$130 is less than cost of a decent meal, and costs
more than that to just park your car for a whole day.
Its dirt cheap to a Hongkie… 🙂
