      Heard offical word from JNH, Tomy s agent in Australia.

      Some new Tomica Bit Char-G cars will be released locally *soon*, they re slated as “New Release 2003” items. They will be sold as “Series II” alongside current Tomy Compact Char-Gs at your local toy shops. 🙂

      Unsure if they ll be rebadged as Compacts (probably not).

      Pricewise probably the same as Compacts.

      Which models? That s the $64,000 question… Nothing outside of the usual Japan models we all already know about but. Whether we get one, some or all is left to be seen.

      No word on Tomica hopups either.

      Hopefully they ll offer the same tings they’re offerring in the USA – heaps of shells, and some other hop-ups.

      No, I said “Tomica Bit Char-G”, not “Hobbico Microsizers”. blackeye:

      JNH/Funtastic are Oz agents for Tomy, not Hobbico.
      Hobbico are for US only, they do not export.
      Totally individual company, but for that licencing deal.

      my work (grace Bros/Myer) has just recieved a shipment oif Carebears…. i refused to unpack them lol.

      but i seriously cant wait for cool 40mhz shells

      Yeah, they now come in Small as well as Big, not just the traditional 15″ size. And there s some weird ‘new’ ones, or maybe just redesigned. Can’t say I paid too much attention to that display… :smiley2:

      Not even sure if they’ll bother changing the freqs and boxes, 50:50 chance we’ll just get the Jap freqs/box. The ones on expo display certainly were just a few of normal Jap ones. All I can see is that shopkeepers now have another line on their order sheets labelled “CharG Series 2” and stock is expected approx 2-3 mths time. Shopkeeps don’t even get to choose the models, its all listed under “various design”. Very potluck.

      JNH also said there’ll be media advertising, although this may just be the same old advert shown again. Gotta watch the kiddy TV for that.

      Afraid its “Trade only”, and they were pretty strict even on accompanying kids… no one allowed between 2 and 12 I think. 👿

      Mainly because all stock is all openly displayed and everything available for demo, so there’s toys just lying everywhere. Definitely NOT the place you want kiddies running amok!!! :blush:

      yeah read about that in the paper was going to scam my way in say im from buying for just say some company ware a suit lol good news on the bits thogh the fact that aus is getting REAL BITS not compacts really sounds sweet looks like barrell and trading direct will have to shut up shop

      Know anyone with a real company who s got links to the toy trade?

      Oz toy trade is a pretty small & closeknit industry.
      Everyone knows everyone else, and Melbourne is just like an

      yeh well the cars that come out will always be a year or so behind japan, its alright for us anyway were going to be getting into the NEW cars coming out in april 😉

      i did and they told me, (who s gonna give me 64’000$?) rx-7, bb,and you ring em up and post the rest…

      No big secret anymore but not sure if bB is gonna make it, the pricelist only lists 4 cars under series II and its not one of them.

      (Yeah, that’s JNH’s wholesale pricelist.)

      i phoned well before the toy fair was on, it s pretty likely they could change the line up of cars. the 27 and 40 mhz frequency limits suck tho.

      Not sure if they re getting them repackaged even. From the boxes on show they were just the normal Jap Bits, in the Jap freqs.

      (Wonder if they’ll put in an English instruction sheet though!!?)

      Nothing of note.

      Just the usual lot of 1/10 ones from Model Engines – y’know, the common HSV Coupe and Ute on the GV elec and gas chassis, sold RTR in the box window box.

      There was a 1/16th toy out too, but that’s the smallest RC Holden seen there.

      That s what got me scratching me head mainly – ‘cos on the collection of ~10 Jap boxes that they had on the show shelf, I saw an *ORANGE* box peeking out amongst them .

      (know whaddya mean?) :blush:

      But no where in the lists are they differentiated. JNH staffers are none wiser either.

      Guess we can only wait until stocks arrive.
